Job summary

PPG in Petaling Jaya seeks a QA/QC leader to support the quality management system, oversee the QC laboratory and testing activities, and drive a culture of quality. You will report to the Quality Assurance Manager and lead safety initiatives on site.

You will participate in internal audits, manage QC technicians, and implement corrective actions to verify sustained product conformity across paint and chemical processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or related field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years QA/QC experience in a manufacturing plant.
• Minimum 3 years in paint or chemicals industry preferred.
• Familiar with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality standards.
• Good oral and written English & Malay.

Job description

You will support the quality management system and operational needs to achieve internal and external customer satisfaction. You will promote a safe work environment and report safety near-misses or observations on the EHS management. You will oversee the Quality Control Laboratory and all testing performed. You will lead the use of a quality management system. You will be on site in Petaling Jaya and report directly to Quality Assurance Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• You will promote a safe work environment and report safety near-misses or observations on the EHS management.
• You will promote and demonstrate a culture of quality through communication, awareness activities and action on the KPI's dashboard.
• You will lead the use of a quality management system
• You will monitor quality control processes to ensure that product performance criteria are met
• You will participate in our internal audit program to ensure product conformity identify improvement opportunities
• You will participate in the customer complaint management process by ensuring root causes are accurately identified and effective corrective actions are implemented and verified.
• You will manage the daily activity and workflow of QC technicians
• Lead safety initiatives, continuous improvement projects, and employee training programs to enhance workplace safety, operational efficiency, and capability development.
• You will establish and implement our strategies for cycle time reduction for in-process and final testing functions.
• Support the scale up of new products to ensure quality is achieved.
• Ensure adherence to all applicable company processes, procedures, and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree major in chemistry engineering or chemistry will be preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years relevant QA/QC working experience in a manufacturing plant environment
• Minimum Three (3) years experience in the paint or chemicals industry will be preferred.
• Familiar with company and industry quality standards (e.g. ISO 9001, IATF 16949)
• Good oral and writing English & Malay
