Job summary

PPG Coatings (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd in Petaling Jaya is seeking a QA/QC leader to manage the quality management system and oversee QC laboratory activities on site. You will drive safety, quality culture, and continuous improvement, reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry-related fields, 5+ years QA/QC in manufacturing, and 3+ years in paints/chemicals, with strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree major in chemistry, chemical engineering, or chemistry.
• Minimum 5 years QA/QC in a manufacturing plant environment.
• Minimum 3 years in the paint or chemicals industry.
• Familiar with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality standards.
• Good oral and writing English.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe work environment and report safety near-misses or observations.
• Promote and demonstrate a culture of quality through KPI dashboard communications.
• Lead the use of a quality management system.
• Monitor quality control processes to ensure product performance criteria are met.
• Participate in internal audit program to ensure product conformity and identify improvements.
• Participate in customer complaint management with root causes and corrective actions.
• Manage the daily activity and workflow of QC technicians.
• Lead safety initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
• Establish and implement cycle-time reduction strategies for testing functions.
• Support the scale up of new products to ensure quality.
