Job summary

JAPAN AIR FILTER MALAYSIA SDN BHD in Shah Alam is seeking a Safety & Environment Officer (OSH) to uphold QMS and ISO standards. A Bachelor’s in Occupational Safety and Health + 1-2 years’ experience is required, with OSH Coordinator certification preferred.

You will analyse data, prepare reports, and work with teams to maintain a safe workplace. You will conduct internal audits, liaise with government authorities, and coordinate with auditors and external service providers for CHRA, CEM,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety & Health, or related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in Safety and Environment (HSE) or related.
• Strong understanding of QMS, HSE regulations and ISO standards.
• Data analysis and technical reporting capability.
• Good interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• OSH Coordinator certification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and 13485 certifications.
• Conduct internal audits for ISO management systems.
• Liaise with third‑party auditors to maintain certifications.
• Plan safety patrols and Health and Safety Committee meetings.
• Coordinate with government authorities for factory inspections.
• Coordinate with service providers for CHRA, CEM, audiometry, medical surveillance, LEV.
• Prepare safety and health documentation (ROC, HIRARC, SHC minutes, safety procedures).
• Conduct safety inductions for new employees.
• Ensure PPE is provided to employees.

Job description

Bachelor of Occupational Safety and Health (Hons) or any relaterd course.

Minimum 1-2 years of experience in Safety and Environment (HSE) or a related field.

Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) regulations and ISO standards.

Computer literate, with the ability to analyse data and prepare technical reports.

Good interpersonal communication and teamwork skills.

Possess at least an OSH Coordinator certification.

Job Responsibilities

Well-versed in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 13485 standards.

Conduct internal audits for all ISO Management Systems.

Liaise with third-party auditors to maintain ISO certifications.

Possess experience in workplace safety and at least an OSH Coordinator certification.

Plan and conduct safety patrols and Safety and Health Committee meetings.

Liaise with government authorities such as JKKP for factory inspections.

Coordinate with third-party service providers to conduct safety and health monitoring, including:

Chemical Health Risk Assessment (CHRA)

Chemical Exposure Monitoring (CEM)

Audiometry

Medical Surveillance

Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV)

Prepare safety and health documentation, including:

Register of Compliance Obligations

HIRARC

Safety and Health Committee Meeting Minutes

Safety Procedures

Conduct safety induction programmes for all new employees.

Ensure appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided to employees.
