This role involves performing Incoming, In-Process and Final/Outgoing Quality Inspection (IQC, IPQC and FQC) activities according to established quality plans, procedures, work instructions and inspection standards. You will conduct dimensional and visual inspection of mechanical parts, components and finished products using appropriate measuring instruments and inspection equipment, and ensure all products meet specified drawings, specifications, tolerances and customer requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Perform dimensional and visual inspection of mechanical parts, components and finished products using appropriate measuring instruments and inspection equipment
- Conduct first article, in-process and final inspection to ensure products meet specified drawings, specifications, tolerances and customer requirements
- Perform metrology activities, including measurement, verification and maintenance of measuring equipment and instruments
- Ensure all measuring equipment and inspection tools are properly calibrated and within their validity period before use
- Assist in calibration activities, including internal checks, external calibration coordination, calibration records and follow-up actions as assigned
- Maintain accurate and complete inspection records, quality records, measurement data and calibration records
- Generate inspection reports and communicate inspection results to relevant departments in a timely manner
- Identify, record and report any non-conformance, abnormality or quality issue found during incoming, in-process or final inspection
- Assist in the investigation and follow-up of quality issues, including NCR, corrective action and preventive action (CAPA) activities where required
- Operate and maintain inspection equipment and measuring instruments properly, including CMM and other precision measuring equipment, where applicable
About you
- SKM / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, Metrology, Quality Engineering or equivalent qualification
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in IQC, IPQC, FQC, quality inspection or metrology, preferably in a mechanical parts or precision manufacturing environment
- Familiar with mechanical drawings, GD&T, dimensional tolerances and inspection specifications
- Familiar with measuring instruments such as vernier caliper, micrometer, height gauge, dial gauge, pin gauge, gauge blocks and other precision measuring equipment
- Experience in CMM operation/programming or other advanced measurement equipment is an added advantage
- Basic knowledge of calibration and metrology practices is preferred
- Good communication and email skills, with the ability to maintain and handle quality and inspection documentation
- Able to work independently, accurately and systematically, with good attention to detail
- Willing to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and support overtime or shift work when required
