Job summary

Wilmar International Limited, through its PGEO Edible Oils unit in Pasir Gudang, is seeking a QC Engineer for steel drum manufacturing. This full-time, on-site role focuses on ensuring product quality from incoming materials to final inspection, with emphasis on process control and CAPA.

The ideal candidate holds a Mechanical Engineering or related degree, has 1–3 years in QC/QA in manufacturing, and is proficient in quality tools such as RCA, 8D, and SPC.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing or related field.
• 1–3 years of QC/QA experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with quality inspection, RCA, CAPA and problem solving.
• ISO 9001 and QMS knowledge; FSSC 22000/GMP/HACCP is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Conduct incoming, in-process and final inspections to meet specs.
• Monitor production processes; investigate and resolve quality issues.
• Handle customer complaints; perform root cause analysis and CAPA.
• Issue internal and supplier CARs (SCAR) and follow up corrective actions.
• Analyse quality data using 5 Why, Fishbone, 8D, SPC, Pareto.
• Support supplier quality, including audits and material issues.
• Maintain SOPs, work instructions, inspection and calibration records.
• Participate in audits and close audit findings.
• Support ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, GMP, HACCP adherence.
• Work with Production, Maintenance, Warehouse and Purchasing to drive improvements.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a QC Engineer (Steel Drum Manufacturing) at PGEO Edible Oils Sdn Bhd (A Member of Wilmar International Group of Companies) in Pasir Gudang.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing or related field.
• 1–3 years' experience in QC/QA within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong experience in quality inspection, RCA, CAPA and problem-solving.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and QMS; experience with FSSC 22000/GMP/HACCP is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on, proactive and comfortable working in a manufacturing plant environment.
• Experience in drum, packaging, plastics, chemical or process manufacturing is an advantage.

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct incoming, in-process and final inspections to ensure products meet specifications and customer requirements.
• Monitor production processes and identify, investigate and resolve quality issues and non-conformities.
• Handle customer complaints, conduct root cause analysis and implement effective CAPA.
• Issue and follow up on Internal CAR and Supplier CAR (SCAR) to ensure timely corrective action.
• Analyse quality data and defect trends using tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone, 8D, SPC and Pareto.
• Support supplier quality, including incoming material checks, supplier audits and resolution of material-related issues.
• Maintain and improve SOPs, work instructions, inspection records and calibration records.
• Participate in internal, customer and certification audits and follow up on audit findings.
• Support implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, GMP, HACCP and other applicable quality standards.
• Conduct plant and warehouse inspections to ensure product quality, proper handling and compliance with procedures.
• Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Warehouse and Purchasing to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
• Conduct quality training and promote quality awareness across the plant.
