Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a QC Engineer (Steel Drum Manufacturing) at PGEO Edible Oils Sdn Bhd (A Member of Wilmar International Group of Companies) in Pasir Gudang.
Requirements
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing or related field.
1–3 years' experience in QC/QA within a manufacturing environment.
Strong experience in quality inspection, RCA, CAPA and problem-solving.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 and QMS; experience with FSSC 22000/GMP/HACCP is an advantage.
Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
Hands-on, proactive and comfortable working in a manufacturing plant environment.
Experience in drum, packaging, plastics, chemical or process manufacturing is an advantage.
Job Responsibilities
Conduct incoming, in-process and final inspections to ensure products meet specifications and customer requirements.
Monitor production processes and identify, investigate and resolve quality issues and non-conformities.
Handle customer complaints, conduct root cause analysis and implement effective CAPA.
Issue and follow up on Internal CAR and Supplier CAR (SCAR) to ensure timely corrective action.
Analyse quality data and defect trends using tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone, 8D, SPC and Pareto.
Support supplier quality, including incoming material checks, supplier audits and resolution of material-related issues.
Maintain and improve SOPs, work instructions, inspection records and calibration records.
Participate in internal, customer and certification audits and follow up on audit findings.
Support implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, GMP, HACCP and other applicable quality standards.
Conduct plant and warehouse inspections to ensure product quality, proper handling and compliance with procedures.
Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Warehouse and Purchasing to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
Conduct quality training and promote quality awareness across the plant.
