Job summary

Hai Soon Leong Sdn Bhd in Selangor is seeking a QA/QC professional to perform daily inspections of raw materials, in-process production, and finished goods to ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, and Halal standards. You will maintain QA/QC records, identify non-conformances, support CAPA, and assist in internal and external audits while collaborating with Production, Warehouse, and R&D.

Job description

Perform daily QA/QC inspections and monitoring of raw materials, production processes, finished products, packaging and hygiene conditions to ensure compliance with quality and food safety requirements.

Monitor and ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, FSSC 22000, Halal and other applicable food safety and quality requirements.

Conduct routine product sampling, quality checking and verification according to established specifications and procedures.

Ensure all QA/QC records, checklists and documentation are properly completed, maintained and updated.

Identify and report any non-conformance, quality deviation or food safety issue and follow up on the necessary corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Investigate product quality issues, customer complaints and production non-conformities together with relevant departments.

Monitor personal hygiene, sanitation, housekeeping and GMP practices within the production and related areas.

Conduct internal inspections and assist in internal audits, external audits and customer audits.

Assist in maintaining and updating SOPs, work instructions, specifications and food safety documentation.

Verify incoming raw materials and packaging materials against approved specifications and requirements.

Monitor finished product quality and ensure products meet established specifications before release.

Work closely with Production, Warehouse, R&D and other departments to resolve quality and food safety issues.

Assist in conducting GMP, food safety, hygiene and quality-related training for employees.

Support continuous improvement activities relating to product quality, food safety and operational compliance.

Perform any other QA/QC-related duties assigned by the superior or Management.

Qualification and Requirement:

Candidate must possess at least a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Safety, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Chemistry or other relevant field.

Preferably 1–3 years of working experience in QA/QC within the food manufacturing industry.

Fresh graduates with relevant qualifications are encouraged to apply.

Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, FSSC 22000, Halal and food safety requirements will be an added advantage.

Familiar with QA/QC inspection, documentation, product specifications and quality control procedures.

Good attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Able to identify quality issues and follow up on corrective actions.

Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with Production and other departments.

Able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsible, disciplined, proactive and willing to learn.

Basic computer skills, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.

Able to communicate in Bahasa Malaysia and English.

Willing to work in a food manufacturing / production environment.
