Job summary

SHANGHAI ELECTRIC POWER T&D (M) Sdn. Bhd. seeks a dedicated QA/QC Engineer (Civil/Electrical) to lead quality standards across two Sarawak projects: a Floating Solar installation in Bakun and a 275kV/33kV substation programme in Serian & Samalaju.

The role requires on-site oversight, QMS deployment, and rigorous audits. The ideal candidate holds a Civil or Electrical Engineering degree with 2+ years in QA/QC or site engineering for HV projects, plus membership in BEM.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of QA/QC/Project Engineering or Site Engineering experience for Floating Solar Project.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in projects of similar scope for the 275kV/33kV Substation Project, with at least 2 years leading QA/QC.
• Familiarity with Malaysia's standards and safety requirements (JKR standards).
• Membership of a professional engineering institution such as Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).

Responsibilities

• Oversee QA/QC activities on-site to meet top industry standards.
• Collaborate with Project Manager to deploy and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Conduct quality inductions, site surveillances, and audits to keep the project on track.
• Lead Quality Promotion campaigns and ensure compliance with site safety requirements.

Job description

We are looking for a dedicated QA/QC Engineer (Civil/ Electrical) to lead quality standards at our Floating Solar Project in Bakun, Sarawak and 275kV/33kV Substation Project in Serian and Samalaju, Sarawak.

This is a high-impact, project-based role where you’ll ensure the integrity and reliability of critical energy infrastructure.

The Role: What You’ll Do

As our QA/QC lead on-site, you won’t just be ticking boxes; you’ll be the guardian of project excellence. Your key responsibilities include:

On-Site Oversight: Drive all QA/QC activities on-site, ensuring the project meets the highest industry standards.

System Implementation: Work closely with the Project Manager to deploy and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS).

Audit & Surveillance: Conduct rigorous quality inductions, site surveillances, and audits to keep the project on track.

Safety & Promotion: Lead Quality Promotion campaigns and ensure all works align with site safety and hazard requirements.

Requirements:

Project 1: Floating Solar Project in Bakun, Sarawak

Bachelor's Degree in Civil/ Electrical Engineering.

Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience in QA/QC, Project Engineering or Site Engineering.

Experience in HV projects is preferred.

Membership of a professional engineering institution such as Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) Malaysia (BEM)

Project 2: 275kV/33kV Substation Project in Serian & Samalaju, Sarawak.

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.

At least 5 years' experience in projects similar to the scope of the Works which includes at least 2 years’ experience of leading QAQC related scope of work.

Preferable to have knowledge in Completion Management System (CMS) and apply this as a tool in project set up, implementation and operation during FAT inspection, construction and commissioning.

Familiar with the hazards and safety requirements for work site.

Familiar with Malaysia’s JKR Standard Specification, Standards Code of Practice & Regulations.

Membership of a professional engineering institution such as Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) Malaysia (BEM).
