Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 3–5 years of QAQC experience in construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and local Malaysian codes.
• Proficient in quality testing procedures and materials inspection.
• Familiar with contracts, specifications, and project documentation.
• Excellent attention to detail and consistency in quality.
• Strong communication and teamwork across sites.
• Problem-solving and proactive issue resolution.
• Competent with quality management software and MS Office.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

HL ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTION SDN BHD is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented QAQC Engineer to join our growing team in Sepang, Selangor. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety across our construction projects. As QAQC Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining rigorous quality assurance and quality control protocols, ensuring that all work meets or exceeds industry standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements. This role is essential to protecting our reputation, ensuring client satisfaction, and maintaining project timelines and budgets.

Key responsibilities

Conduct regular inspections and audits of construction works, materials, and workmanship to ensure compliance with approved specifications, drawings, and industry standards

Perform materials testing and verification, including concrete strength tests, steel inspections, and other material quality assessments

Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality control plans and procedures for assigned projects

Document and report on quality findings, including non-conformances, corrective actions, and inspection results

Identify defects and non-conforming work, and coordinate with site teams to implement timely corrections

Monitor site safety practices and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and company policies

Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders to resolve quality issues and maintain open communication

Maintain detailed quality records, test reports, and documentation as required for project handover and compliance

Attend site meetings and provide quality status updates to project management teams

Support the continuous improvement of quality processes and contribute to lessons learned initiatives

What we're looking for

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field

Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a QAQC Engineer or similar quality control role in construction projects

Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and building standards, including local Malaysian codes and international best practices

Proficiency in quality testing procedures and materials inspection techniques

Familiarity with construction contracts, specifications, and project documentation

Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain consistent quality standards across complex projects

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders

Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving quality issues

Competency in using quality management software and Microsoft Office applications

A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required

Relevant certifications such as ISO 9001 or quality auditor training are highly desirable
