Job summary

Niaga Prestasi is seeking a QA/QC Engineer for High Voltage Systems to support HV substation projects. You will drive quality planning, inspections, testing, documentation, NCR/CAPA, and supplier quality across design, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning phases.

The role requires expertise in HV equipment, IEC standards, and QMS, with strong analytical and documentation skills. Travel to project sites and customer sites may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–7 years of experience in HV substation projects (GIS/AIS preferred).
  • Experience in QA/QC within EPC, OEM, utility, or electrical infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of IEC standards, ISO 9001, and QMS processes.
  • Strong analytical, inspection, documentation, and reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement project quality plans, ITPs, and inspection procedures for HV systems.
  • Perform site quality inspections during installation, testing, and commissioning.
  • Manage NCRs, CAPA, and root-cause analyses using 5-Why, Fishbone, and FMEA.
  • Maintain quality records, produce status reports, and ensure audit readiness.
  • Collaborate with engineering, project management, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams.

About the Role

We are looking for a QA/QC Engineer – High Voltage Systems to support the successful delivery of high-voltage substation projects. The role will be responsible for quality planning, inspections, testing, documentation, non-conformance management, and supplier quality activities throughout the engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning phases.

Key Responsibilities
Project Quality Execution
  • Implement project quality plans, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and inspection procedures for HV systems.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables and site activities comply with applicable quality standards, customer specifications, and IEC requirements.
  • Support quality risk assessments and ensure mitigation actions are implemented.
Inspection & Testing
  • Conduct incoming inspections of HV materials and equipment, including GIS, AIS, transformers, and HV switchgear.
  • Perform site quality inspections during installation, testing, and commissioning.
  • Support FAT and SAT activities and verify compliance with technical specifications.
  • Review inspection and test results and identify quality issues requiring corrective action.
Non-Conformance & CAPA Management
  • Identify, document, and track Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
  • Support root-cause analysis using methodologies such as 5-Why, Fishbone, and FMEA.
  • Coordinate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Monitor and ensure timely closure of NCRs.
  • Support supplier qualification and quality audits for HV components and equipment.
  • Monitor supplier quality performance.
  • Conduct incoming material inspections and verify compliance of supplied equipment and materials.
Quality Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain quality records, inspection reports, test reports, NCRs, and audit documentation.
  • Prepare regular quality status reports covering risks, issues, and improvement actions.
  • Ensure all quality documentation is complete, accurate, traceable, and audit-ready.
  • Support compliance with QMS requirements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with engineering, project management, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams.
  • Support customer inspections, testing, and acceptance activities.
  • Communicate quality issues clearly and recommend practical corrective actions.
  • Strong knowledge of High Voltage Substation Systems.
  • Experience with GIS, AIS, transformers, HV switchgear, protection & control systems.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Experience with HV testing, FAT, SAT, and ITP execution.
  • Knowledge of IEC standards and HV testing procedures.
  • Experience in NCR, CAPA, root-cause analysis, 5-Why, Fishbone, and FMEA.
  • Strong technical documentation and reporting skills.
  • Experience in supplier quality and incoming material inspection is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Compliance with ITPs and inspection procedures.
  • Accuracy and completeness of quality documentation.
  • Timeliness of quality reporting and issue escalation.
    Qualifications & Experience
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related discipline.
    • 3–7 years of experience in HV substation projects, preferably involving GIS/AIS.
    • Previous QA/QC experience within EPC, OEM, utility, or electrical infrastructure projects.
    • Good understanding of HV equipment, installation, testing, and commissioning.
    • Knowledge of IEC standards, ISO 9001, and QMS processes.
    • Strong analytical, inspection, documentation, and reporting capabilities.
    Working Conditions
    • Regular interaction with suppliers, project teams, site personnel, and commissioning engineers.
    • Requires hands‑on involvement in inspections, testing, and quality activities at HV substation sites.
    • Willingness to travel to project and customer sites when required.
