Private Advertiser is seeking a Senior HV Project Manager to oversee end-to-end delivery of high voltage substation projects up to 275kV/500kV, including EPCC for AIS/GIS facilities serving data centers and renewables.
You will develop PEPs, coordinate with lead engineers, manage budgets and risks, and ensure safety by design and FAT/SAT. Applicants should have 5–10 years HV/EHV experience, BEM registration, and PMP/Prince2 certification is a plus.
The HV Project Manager will oversee the end-to-end delivery of High Voltage substation projects (up to 275kV/500kV). You will be responsible for the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) of AIS/GIS substations serving critical infrastructure, including Tier III/IV Data Centers, Utility-Scale Solar (LSS), and Transmission Grid upgrades.
Lead the execution of HV substation projects from site possession to Final Acceptance Certificate (FAC)
Manage a diverse portfolio: Data Center (focus on uptime/redundancy), Renewables (focus on grid code compliance), and Grid Switching (focus on utility handover)
Develop and maintain detailed Project Execution Plans (PEP) and Master Programs (MS Project/Primavera)
Interface with Lead Engineers to ensure primary (switchgear, transformers, gantries) and secondary (protection, SCADA, telecontrol) designs meet client and utility specifications
Ensure the design optimizes the thermal capacity of incoming lines (e.g., Zebra/Twin-Bundle configurations) and bay dimensions
Act as the primary point of contact for the Utility Provider (e.g., TNB, Grid Operators) regarding Interconnection Facilities (IF) and Power Purchase Agreements (PPA)
Coordinate with local authorities for land permits, wayleaves, and energization approvals
Manage project budgets, cash flow, and variations (VO)
Identify technical risks (e.g., soil resistivity issues, long-lead equipment delays like Transformers/GIS) and implement mitigation strategies
Enforce Safety by Design and Zero-Harm policies in high-risk HV environments and oversee Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for major equipment and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for energization
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (Power System preferred)
Registered with Board of Engineers (BEM) or equivalent; PMP/Prince2 certification is a plus
Minimum 5–10 years in HV/EHV substation projects
Proven track record in Data Center projects (understanding of N+1 or 2N redundancy) and Solar Farm grid integration
Deep understanding of AIS vs. GIS technology
Familiarity with IEC standards and local utility (TNB) technical guidebooks
Knowledge of HV testing (Hi-Pot, Tan-Delta, Partial Discharge)
Experience managing sub-contractors and specialized HV equipment vendors
Ability to maintain a calm head during a 48-hour energization window
Ability to pivot from the fast-paced time-to-market demands of a Data Center client to the rigid, process-driven requirements of a Grid Operator
