Job summary

CARJEN FOOD SDN BHD is seeking a Quality Assurance Executive to ensure QMS compliance with ISO 9001:2015, HACCP and food regulations. You will oversee document control, internal audits, supplier and product quality issues, CAPA implementation, and management reviews. Strong communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia is preferred.

The role requires a Diploma or Degree in a related field, at least 3 years in food manufacturing QA, and hands-on experience with ISO certification processes.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Science, Engineering, food science, or quality management.
• Minimum 3 years experience in food manufacturing QA, audits, and documentation.
• In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, HACCP, Codex and food regulations.
• Hands-on experience with ISO certification processes, including surveillance audits and recertification.
• Preferably certified Competent Person by DOE for WWTP management (CePIETSO-BP).
• Good communication, interpersonal and coordination skills.
• Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is an added advantage.

Job description

Ensure all company processes and operations are effectively implemented in accordance with established policies, SOPs, customer requirements, and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

Develop, implement, maintain, and continually improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001:2015.

Oversee document and record control for quality-related procedures, work instructions, specifications, forms, and records to ensure accuracy, consistency, traceability, and effective document control.

Plan, coordinate, and lead internal audits, management review meetings, corrective action follow-ups, and continual improvement activities.

Coordinate and manage all audits including external certification audits, customer audits, OEM audits, and relevant regulatory inspections.

Prepare and present periodic quality performance reports, trend analysis, and key quality indicators to management and during Management Review Meetings(MRM).

Quality Assurance

Manage customer complaints, quality feedback, and product non-conformities by ensuring timely investigation, Lead investigations into product quality issues, process deviations, and customer complaints through effective root cause analysis and implementation of appropriate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Ensure quality inspection reports, testing records, Certificates of Analysis (COA), NCRs, audit reports, and other QA/QC documentation are properly prepared, maintained, and traceable.

Ensure manufacturing processes are consistently carried out in accordance with approved specifications, SOPs, GMP, HACCP, food safety requirements, and established quality standards.

Conduct training and coaching for personnel to strengthen quality awareness.

Supervise the operation and maintenance of the Industrial Effluent Treatment System (IETS) and liaise with the Maintenance Team / external contractors for equipment repair and servicing.

Ensure effluent discharge complies with the limits set under the Environmental Quality (Industrial Effluent) Regulations 2009.

Oversee sampling and laboratory testing of effluent for key parameters such as pH, BOD, COD, TSS, etc.

Prepare and submit relevant reports and monitoring data to the Department of Environment (DOE).

Conduct and maintain daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly environmental monitoring and record keeping.

Support in environmental audits, inspections and corrective actions.

Requirements

Diploma or Degree in a relevant field such as Science, Engineering, food science, or quality management

Minimum 3 years experience in food manufacturing industry, QA, audits, and documentation

In-depth knowledge and practical experience ISO 9001:2015, HACCP, Codex and food regulations.

Hands-on experience and strong understanding in ISO certification processes, including implementation, surveillance audits, and recertification.

Preferably certified Competent Person by DOE for Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) management: CePIETSO-BP

Good communication, interpersonal and coordination skills.

Able to work independently with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia is an added advantage.
