Job summary

Private Advertiser in Johor Bahru, Malaysia is seeking an experienced QA cum R&D Manager to ensure the quality and safety of our food products while leading research and development initiatives to enhance our offerings.

In this full-time role you will verify HACCP, GMP and HALAL compliance, supervise QA and R&D projects, review SOPs and specifications, and support product formulation and sensory testing to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Degree in Food Science or Food Technology.
• Minimum 5 years in a similar role within the food industry.
• Proven track record in managing quality assurance and R&D functions.
• Excellent understanding of food safety regulations, quality control procedures, and product development processes.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with data‑driven decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work across teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct verification activities to fulfill HACCP/GMP/HALAL requirements.
• Ensure system compliance to HACCP/GMP/HALAL requirements.
• Participate as a Food Safety Management Team member for documentation control.
• Review and update SOPs, procedures, flow diagrams, hazard analysis, CCP & OPRP summary plan.
• Handle customer complaints and product recalls.
• Lead long-term and short-term R&D projects to meet company and customer objectives and regulatory guidelines.
• Conduct product formulation, sensory tasting, and provide solutions to improve quality.
• Review procedures, protocols and specifications to support product development and ensure test results and documentation are in standard format.
• Perform ad-hoc tasks assigned by Top Management.

About the role

Seeking an experienced QA cum R&D Manager to join our team in Johor Bahru, Johor. In this full-time role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the quality and safety of our food products, as well as driving research and development initiatives to enhance our offerings.

What you'll be doing

• To conduct & monitor verification activities to fulfill with HACCP / GMP/ HALAL requirement.
• To ensure the system compliance to HACCP/ GMP/ HALAL requirement.
• Participancy role as a Food Safety Management Team member for ensuring proper documentation control of forms & records in compliance with HACCP/ GMP/ HALAL.
• Review & updated SOP, procedures, flow diagrams, hazard analysis, CCP & OPRP summary plan.
• Responsible to handle customer complaint & product recall.
• Manage all long term & short term R&D projects to meet all company & customer objectives & ensure that all meet the regulatory guideline.
• Conduct product formulation, view & sensory tasting to provide solution for improving product quality.
• Responsible to review procedure, protocols & specification needed to support product development activities & ensure test result, timelines, specification & procedures are in standard format for inclusion in documentation databases.
• To perform Ad-hoc tasks assigned by Top Management from time to time.
