Job summary

Gano Excel Industries Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a QA Chemist to ensure raw materials, in-process samples and finished products meet quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine chemical and physical testing of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products and other samples as required.
• Ensure laboratory testing is performed according to approved test methods, specifications, SOPs and quality requirements.
• Develop, verify and validate new analytical methods for chemical analysis when required.
• Prepare analytical procedures, test methods, laboratory work instructions and related SOPs.
• Support the implementation, documentation and accreditation of the laboratory according to ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
• Operate laboratory instruments and equipment according to approved procedures and manufacturers' instructions.
• Ensure laboratory instruments are properly maintained, calibrated and verified according to the established calibration and preventive maintenance schedule.
• Prepare and review Certificates of Analysis (COA) based on approved specifications and laboratory test results.
• Ensure laboratory test results and records are complete, accurate, traceable and properly documented.
• Maintain good laboratory housekeeping, safety practices and proper chemical waste handling.

Job description

The QA Chemist will be responsible for conducting chemical and physical laboratory testing, operating and maintaining laboratory instruments, developing and validating analytical methods, preparing Certificates of Analysis (COA), maintaining laboratory documentation, and supporting the establishment and accreditation of the laboratory according to ISO/IEC 17025 requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with the QA/QC team to ensure that raw materials, in-process materials and finished products comply with established specifications, quality standards and applicable regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

Perform routine chemical and physical testing of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products and other samples as required

Ensure laboratory testing is performed according to approved test methods, specifications, SOPs and quality requirements

Develop, optimize, verify and validate new analytical methods for chemical analysis when required

Prepare analytical procedures, test methods, laboratory work instructions and related SOPs

Support the implementation, documentation and accreditation of the laboratory according to ISO/IEC 17025:2017

Operate laboratory instruments and equipment according to approved procedures and manufacturers' instructions

About you

Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry or another relevant scientific discipline

Preferably 1-3 years of experience in a QA/QC laboratory, testing laboratory, manufacturing laboratory or related environment

Knowledge or experience in chemical and physical testing

Knowledge of analytical method development, verification and validation

Knowledge of laboratory instrument operation, calibration and preventive maintenance

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

High level of accuracy and attention to detail

Good record-keeping and report-writing skills

Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

Good command of written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia
