Job summary

Starlite Printers (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking a resourceful Purchasing Executive to manage sourcing and purchasing for stationery, office supplies and general consumables. You will identify reliable suppliers, obtain quotations, negotiate terms, and coordinate timely deliveries across departments.

Requirements include a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Purchasing or related field, and at least 2 years in purchasing or sourcing, preferably in manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Procurement or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant purchasing or sourcing experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong negotiation and cost-conscious mindset.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for dealing with suppliers and internal departments.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Source and identify potential suppliers for stationery, office supplies, general consumables and other company requirements.
• Obtain quotations from suppliers and conduct price comparison and evaluation to ensure competitive pricing.
• Negotiate with suppliers on price, payment terms, delivery schedules and other commercial terms.
• Prepare and process Purchase Orders (PO) and follow up on delivery status.
• Monitor supplier performance in terms of pricing, quality, service and delivery.

We are looking for a resourceful and hands-on Purchasing Executive to manage sourcing and purchasing activities for stationery, office supplies, general consumables and other company requirements. This role will focus on identifying reliable suppliers, obtaining competitive quotations, negotiating favourable terms, coordinating timely deliveries and identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining strong supplier relationships and supporting the purchasing needs of various departments.

You will play an important role in:

Source and identify potential suppliers for stationery, office supplies, general consumables and other company requirements.

Obtain quotations from suppliers and conduct price comparison and evaluation to ensure competitive pricing.

Negotiate with suppliers on price, payment terms, delivery schedules and other commercial terms.

Prepare and process Purchase Orders (PO) and follow up on delivery status.

Source alternative suppliers and products to achieve cost savings and better purchasing terms.

Handle purchasing requests from various departments and ensure items are purchased according to requirements.

Coordinate with suppliers and internal departments to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.

Monitor supplier performance in terms of pricing, quality, service and delivery.

Maintain and develop good relationships with existing and potential suppliers.

Maintain proper purchasing records, including quotations, purchase orders, supplier information and agreements.

Assist in supplier evaluation and ensure purchases comply with company purchasing policies and procedures.

Handle any other general purchasing and sourcing activities as assigned by Management.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Procurement or related field.

Minimum 2 years of relevant purchasing or sourcing experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Strong negotiation and cost-conscious mindset with the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities.
