Job summary

Kemikon Sdn. Bhd. in Penang, Malaysia, seeks a Purchasing Executive to manage supplier relationships, drive cost reductions, and optimize ordering and inventory control across assigned commodities.

Responsibilities include selecting strategic suppliers via ERP and AVL, processing POs, monitoring vendor performance, negotiating prices, and coordinating with Finance on invoices. Proficiency in English, Bahasa, and Mandarin is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement or related field with minimum 5 years purchasing/sourcing experience.
• Proficiency on ERP, Inventory Control System and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong analytical skills with experience in cost analysis.

Responsibilities

• Participate in cross-functional CIP initiatives and NPI/FA readiness.

Job description

Manage supplier relationship for assigned commodities, developing and implementing cost reduction programs and improving ordering and inventory control practices.

Select strategic suppliers through ERP and Approved Vendor List (AVL) who meet delivery lead times,quality and cost competitiveness standards.

Process and execute Purchase Orders in the ERP system as requested ensuring timely and accurate completion.

Utilize effective tools to monitor vendor performance in terms of quality,cost, delivery commitment and service level to meet customer expectations.

Communicate and execute changes,including Engineering Change Orders in collaboration with suppliers.

Coordinate with the Finance Department on supplier invoices,matching documents and addressing payment issues.

Participate in cross functional team exercises focused on product quality,continuous improvement programs (CIP) and others initiatives.

Manage RFQ (Request For Quotation) processes and conduct price negotiations for direct and indirect materials escpecially for NPI/FA readiness.

Identify potential supplier,support New Supplier Survey Form completion and coordinate Non -Disclosure Agreements or contracts for urgent requests from internal customers.

Oversee sub-contracted services (e.g surface finishing processes) including supplier qualification,pricing and delivery monitoring.

Requirement

Bachelor's Degree or Advance Diploma in Supply Chain Management ,Procurement or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant purchasing/sourcing experience in related industry.

Proficiency on an ERP,Inventory Control System and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook ,Excel ,Word and Power Point)

Strong analytical skills with experience in cost analysis.

Demonstrated negotiation expertise.

Proficiency in English, Bahasa and Mandarin to effectively communicate with our diverse client base and stakeholders.
