Job summary

LAM SOON EDIBLE OILS SDN BHD (PG) in Pasir Gudang seeks a Procurement Officer to source and maintain suppliers, negotiate orders, and manage the PO process in M3/Ecology. The role emphasizes cost control, supplier development, and timely issue resolution with the production and engineering teams.

The ideal candidate will maintain supplier databases, ensure PO accuracy, and provide management reports and cost-saving insights.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing/procurement and supplier management.
• Ability to source and negotiate with suppliers to reduce costs.
• Proficient in data base maintenance of suppliers and purchasing information.
• Familiar with PO processing and documentation workflows.

Responsibilities

• Source and maintain good suppliers to support Production and Engineering.
• Monitor purchasing policies and supply continuity amid business changes.
• Negotiate orders and quotations and take responsibility for actions.
• Establish and maintain supplier database and purchasing data.
• Develop new suppliers as alternate sources for engineering and project items.
• Source items to reduce cost without compromising quality with factory input.
• Handle supplier queries and promptly resolve issues.
• Prepare purchase orders in M3 and upload to Ecology for approval with docs.
• Email approved purchase orders to suppliers and obtain acknowledgments.
• Ensure PO acknowledgments are uploaded to Ecology.
• Coordinate with suppliers on delivery problems or order issues.
• Arrange scrapped vendors to view and quote for write-offs.
• Solicit monthly quotes from scrap suppliers for disposal items.
• Work with honesty in buying and safeguarding safety standards.
• Report food safety issues to supervisor.
• Provide management reports and cost-saving KPIs.
• Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.

1. To Source and maintain good suppliers in order to ensure that Production and Engineering team are well supported.

2. Be aware of economic or business situation/ changes that may affect purchasing policies or continuous supply issue.

3. Ensure all negotiation of orders and quotations are properly executed and take full responsibilities of action taken.

4. Establish and maintain data base of suppliers and purchasing/ stock information.

5. To develop new potential suppliers as an alternate source of supply for Engineering Items, Projects & Miscellaneous items currently used by the company where possible.

6. Source Engineering Items, Projects & Miscellaneous items to reduce the cost without affecting the quality in conjunction with the factory costs.

7. Ensure all queries and complaints from end users are dealt with promptly.

8. To ensure all Purchase Orders are prepared in an orderly manner in M3 and uploaded into Ecology System for approval with all relevant supporting documentations.

9. To ensure that all Purchase Orders approved are emailed out to supplier accordingly.

10.To ensure that all Purchase Orders are chopped and faxed /email back by the suppliers as proof that they have received our Purchase Orders.

11.To ensure that all Purchase Orders acknowledged by supplier are uploaded into Ecology accordingly.

12.To liaise with supplier should there be any delivery problems or any other issues pertaining to the orders given.

13.To arrange for Scrapped Vendor to view and quote for those items that are approved for write off.

14.To attain monthly quotes from our Scrap suppliers for items such as Plastic Items disposal,Carton disposal, Metal Items Disposal, Aluminium, Stainless Steel, Etc...

15.Work with honesty and truthful in buying.

16.Safeguarding occupational health and safety standards of the workforce.

17.Responsible to report food safety issues or concerns at the workplace to your superior.

18.Provide management reports and key performance data and monitor cost savings.

19.To perform any other related duties as assigned by the superior from time to time.

Pay: From RM2,500.00 per month
