Job summary

Vekan Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Purchasing Executive in Port Klang, Selangor to ensure quality and reliability across manufacturing and products.

You will source suppliers, issue POs, and coordinate with Quality and Engineering to evaluate process capability and compliance with RoHS/REACH requirements. The role requires 2–5 years in sourcing/procurement, strong negotiation and analytical skills, and familiarity with BOMs, drawings, and SAP-like ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supplier development in manufacturing.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills; familiarity with BOMs and drawings; ERP experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Source, evaluate, and qualify suppliers for secondary processes, raw materials and consumables.
• Issue purchase orders and ensure on-time delivery aligned with production schedules.
• Coordinate with Quality and Engineering to evaluate supplier capability and RoHS/REACH compliance.
• Negotiate price, delivery terms and contracts with local and overseas vendors (China).
• Ensure sourcing activities comply with ISO/TS16949, ISO9001 requirements; monitor inventory and safety stock.
• Support JIT practices and maintain up-to-date supplier performance records.

In this full-time position, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our manufacturing processes and end products. Your expertise will be instrumental in upholding our high standards and driving continuous improvement across our operations.

Key responsibilities

• Source, evaluate, and qualify suppliers for secondary process (plating), raw materials, and consumables.
• Issue purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure on‑time delivery in line with production schedules.
• Coordinate with the Quality and Engineering departments to evaluate supplier process capability, plating performance, and compliance with RoHS/REACH requirements.
• Negotiate price, delivery terms, and contracts with local and overseas (China) vendors.
• Ensure all sourcing activities comply with company procedures and IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 requirements.
• Monitor inventory levels, manage safety stock, and support just‑in‑time (JIT) practices.

About you

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supplier development (preferably in manufacturing environment).
• Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
• Familiar with technical drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing processes.
• Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
• Knowledge of ISO/TS16949, ISO9001, or related quality systems is an advantage.
