Job summary

DF Automation & Robotics in Malaysia is seeking a Purchasing/Procurement professional with 2–5 years of experience to source components, materials, and services for robotics and automation projects. You will evaluate suppliers, negotiate pricing and terms, manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and coordinate with R&D, Production, Warehouse, and Finance to ensure stock sufficiency and on-time delivery.

The role requires English and Bahasa Malaysia communication, familiarity with ERP/MRP

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in Purchasing or Procurement.
• Experience in automation, robotics, electronics, manufacturing, or system integration is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase components, materials, and services for robotics/automation projects.
• Identify, evaluate and maintain supplier relationships.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, lead times, and other purchasing terms.
• Prepare and manage Purchase Orders (POs) based on approved PRs.
• Coordinate import shipments when required.
• Work with R&D, Production, Warehouse and Finance teams.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in Purchasing or Procurement.
• Experience in automation, robotics, electronics, manufacturing, or system integration will be an advantage.
• Familiar with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Odoo, NetSuite, or similar.
• Good Microsoft Excel skills.
• Knowledge of Incoterms and SST regulations is an added advantage.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to communicate in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Ability to communicate effectively with vendors from China will be an added advantage.
• Well-organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase components, materials, and services needed for robotics and automation projects.
• Identify, evaluate, and maintain good relationships with suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, and other purchasing terms.
• Prepare and manage Purchase Orders (PO) based on approved Purchase Requisitions (PR).
• Follow up closely with suppliers to ensure materials are delivered on time.
• Monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, cost, delivery, and service.
• Handle delivery shortages, defective items, invoice discrepancies, and other purchasing issues.
• Coordinate import shipments when required.
• Work closely with R&D, Production, Warehouse, and Finance teams.
• Support new product development by checking component availability, pricing, and lead times.
• Coordinate Engineering Change Notices (ECN) with suppliers when components are changed or replaced.
• Help maintain sufficient stock levels for commonly used parts and materials.
• Ensure purchasing activities follow company procedures and relevant regulations.
