Job summary

Amazon Web Services Malaysia SDN. BHD. is seeking a Public Sector Account Manager to lead AWS adoption among federal government, state-owned enterprises and GLICs in Malaysia.

You will develop territory plans, manage complex negotiations, and collaborate with ISV partners, solutions architects, and cross-functional teams to expand public sector cloud and AI usage. Strong government procurement experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above.
• 5+ years of exceeding quota and key performance metrics experience.
• Experience in Sales/Business Development or Account Management roles.
• Knowledge of presentations and whiteboarding with executives, IT management, and developers.

• Drive revenue and market share in Malaysia Public Sector territory by meeting or exceeding targets across federal government, state-owned enterprises and GLICs.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive account/territory plan with forecasting and a robust sales pipeline.
• Create and articulate compelling value propositions around AWS services tailored to public sector needs, accelerating customer adoption by working backwards from customer challenges.
• Manage contract negotiations and public procurement processes while developing long-term strategic relationships at the C-suite and ministerial level.
• Work with ISV partners, consulting partners, system integrators, Solutions Architects, Professional Services, and cross-functional teams to extend reach and drive adoption.
• Develop long-term strategic relationships with key accounts.

Would you like to influence cloud and AI adoption in the Malaysia Public Sector? Would you like to be part of a team focused on increasing awareness and adoption of Amazon Web Services by engaging with key Public Sector customers and partners who are reinventing their IT strategy by adopting and delivering cloud computing and AI solutions? Do you have the business savvy, public sector sales experience (Federal Government and GLICs) and the technical background necessary to help further establish AWS as a leading cloud platform provider?

AWS Malaysia is looking for an experienced public sector Account Manager to focus on the Public Sector segment in Malaysia. The ideal candidate will possess both a business background that enables them to drive engagement and interaction with the Public Sector leadership team and technology and service providers, as well as a technical background sufficient to enable them to easily interact with software developers and architects. This role will develop and execute against a territory coverage plan and take on a collaborator role with cross functional teams in AWS.

The candidate should have a successful track record of meeting sales targets and a passion for developing new accounts. A keen sense of ownership, drive, and enthusiasm is a must.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above
• 5+ years of exceeding quota and key performance metrics experience
• Experience completing complex tasks quickly with little to no guidance and react with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick turnaround, or experience in a fast-paced, high-tech company
• Experience in Sales/Business Development or Account Management roles
• Knowledge of presentations and whiteboarding skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with internal and external executives, IT management, and developers

Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years of working directly with government officials and regulatory bodies experience
• Experience with government procurement and contracting process
