Private Advertiser in Malaysia is seeking a PR Specialist to develop and execute public relations initiatives that strengthen brand reputation, increase visibility, and nurture relationships with media, partners, clients, and stakeholders.
The role requires a diploma or degree in related field and 3–5 years of experience, strong writing, media relations, Mandarin fluency, and ability to manage multiple projects and campaigns across digital channels.
The PR Specialist is responsible for developing and executing public relations and communications initiatives that strengthen the company's brand reputation, increase market visibility, and maintain positive relationships with media, partners, clients, and other stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
Develop and implement PR and corporate communication strategies aligned with business and branding objectives.
Build and maintain relationships with journalists, media outlets, industry associations, influencers, and other relevant stakeholders.
Draft and distribute press releases, media statements, corporate announcements, articles, speeches, and other communication materials.
Identify media opportunities and proactively pitch company stories, achievements, events, and industry insights.
Coordinate media interviews, press conferences, corporate events, product launches, exhibitions, and other PR activities.
Monitor media coverage, industry news, public sentiment, and competitor activities.
Manage media enquiries and coordinate internal responses to ensure consistent and professional external communication.
Support crisis communication and reputation management when required.
Collaborate with marketing and business development teams on campaigns, events, partnerships, and brand initiatives.
Manage the company's corporate presence across relevant digital and social media channels from a PR perspective.
What we're looking for
A diploma or degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in public relations, corporate communications, or a related field.
Proven experience in developing and executing successful PR campaigns.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft persuasive and clear messages.
Excellent media relations experience and an established network of media contacts.
Proficiency in using media monitoring tools and PR software platforms.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
Solid understanding of digital and social media landscapes and their role in modern PR.
Ability to think strategically whilst executing tactical communications activities.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Fluency in Mandarin; proficiency in Malay and English would be advantageous.
