Job summary

Yokogawa Electric Corporation in Puchong, Malaysia, is seeking a proactive Proposal Engineer to join our global automation team. You will drive tender preparation, technical solution development, and cost estimation for DCS, SIS, FGS, HIPPS, PLC, and SCADA projects.

Fresh graduates are welcome; travel may be required. You will coordinate with Sales, Engineering, Procurement, and Finance to deliver complete proposals on time while upholding high technical and commercial standards.

Qualifications

• A Degree or Diploma in Process Control / Electrical / Electronic / Instrumentation / Chemical / Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Willingness to travel overseas as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical and commercial proposals for DCS, SIS, FGS, HIPPS, PLC, SCADA and other Yokogawa solutions.
• Assist in ITT/RFQ, specifications, datasheets, drawings, commercial requirements and contractual conditions.
• Assist in proposal strategy, scope definition, compliance matrix and technical deviations.
• Coordinate proposal submissions to meet customer deadlines and tender requirements.
• Assist in system architecture, I/O configuration, network architecture and overall solution concept.
• Assist in selecting Yokogawa products based on customer requirements.
• Coordinate with engineering, product specialists, vendors and regional Yokogawa organizations for clarification.
• Identify technical risks, exclusions, assumptions and deviations during the tender stage.
• Prepare project cost estimates covering hardware, software, engineering, project management, installation and other services.
• Obtain and evaluate vendor/subcontractor quotations.
• Work with sales to establish competitive pricing and target margins.
• Support cost optimization and value engineering while maintaining technical compliance.
• Maintain confidentiality of project costing and vendor pricing.
• Act as the main coordinator between Sales, Engineering, Procurement, Finance and other stakeholders during proposal preparation.
• Consolidate inputs into a complete proposal and manage clarification cycles with customers and EPCs.
• Support Sales in developing the technical win strategy and competitive positioning.
