Job summary

Yokogawa seeks an experienced System Integration Engineer to lead integration strategies across control, safety and monitoring systems in oil & gas projects. You will oversee design, documentation, and handover while coordinating with EPCs and vendors to ensure compliant delivery.

The role requires hands-on experience with DCS/IPS, industrial protocols, and data historians, plus strong stakeholder management and bilingual communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in electrical, instrumentation, control systems, or computer engineering.
• Five to seven years of experience in system integration within oil & gas or petrochemical industries.
• Experience with major control platforms (e.g., DCS, IPS).
• Strong knowledge of industrial protocols (Modbus, Foundation Field Bus, Ethernet/IP).
• Familiarity with SIS, fire & gas systems, and data historians (PI System).
• Experience in managing integration projects in brownfield and greenfield environments.
• Experience in handling and delivering projects in turnaround or shutdown events.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Ensure compatibility and communication between DCS, PLC, SCADA, SIS, and third-party systems.
• Oversee integration activities during project phases: detailed design, FAT/SAT, commissioning and handover.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors, vendors, and internal teams for timely delivery.
• Review and integrate technical specifications, integration plans, and test procedures.
• Provide expert-level support for system diagnostics and troubleshooting, if required.

System Architecture & Integration

• Lead the development of system integration strategies for control, safety, and monitoring systems.

Mentorship & Knowledge Transfer

• Mentor junior engineers and technicians in system integration best practices.
• Conduct technical workshops and training sessions for operations and maintenance teams.

Requirements

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in electrical, Instrumentation, Control Systems, or Computer Engineering.
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in system integration within oil & gas or petrochemical industries.
• Proven experience with major control platforms (e.g., DCS,IPS).
• Strong knowledge of industrial protocols (Modbus, Foundation Field Bus, Ethernet/IP).
• Familiarity with safety systems (SIS), fire & gas systems, and data historians (e.g., PI System).
• Experience in managing integration projects in brownfield and greenfield environments.
• Experience in handling and delivering projects in turnaround or shutdown event.

Preferred Skills

• Independent and able to work under minimal supervision.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Fluent in English & Bahasa Malaysia.
