Job summary

Modern Smart Design Sdn Bhd is seeking a proactive Site Coordinator to oversee commercial interior fit-out projects from start to finish. You will coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and installation schedules, ensuring quality workmanship and timely delivery across Malaysia.

Ideal candidates hold a diploma or equivalent, with 1+ year experience in interior fit-out or renovations, strong reading of drawings, and excellent coordination and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum Vocational Certificate, SKM, Diploma or equivalent in Interior Design or related fields.
• At least 1 year' experience in interior fit-out or renovation projects.
• Knowledge of interior finishing materials and construction methods.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings accurately.
• Strong coordination and communication skills; able to work independently or with teams.
• Must possess own transport and a valid driving license.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and manage site activities from start to finish.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and installation schedules.
• Supervise renovation and interior works to ensure quality.
• Monitor progress and ensure completion within schedule.
• Inspect site quality and resolve issues promptly.
• Read and interpret 2D and 3D drawings and furniture layouts.
• Coordinate with interior designers, project managers, clients and subcontractors.
• Provide site progress updates to PM and clients.
• Verify site measurements, workmanship and material installation.
• Ensure housekeeping and safety compliance.
• Identify risks and propose timely solutions to prevent delays.

Modern Smart Design (MSD) is a leading commercial interior design & build company specialising in healthcare, corporate offices, F&B and retail projects across Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and manage project site activities from commencement to completion.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and installation schedules to ensure smooth site operations.
• Supervise renovation, fit-out and interior works to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with project specifications.
• Monitor project progress and ensure works are completed within the approved schedule.
• Inspect site quality and resolve technical or construction issues promptly.
• Understand and interpret construction drawings including:
• 2D Drawings
• 3D Perspective Drawings
• Furniture Layout Plans
• Detailed Construction Drawings
• Coordinate closely with interior designers, project managers, clients and subcontractors to ensure timely project execution.
• Provide regular site progress updates and reports to the Project Manager and clients.
• Verify site measurements, workmanship and material installation.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and compliance with workplace safety requirements.
• Proactively identify project risks and recommend practical solutions to minimize delays.

Requirements

• Minimum Vocational Certificate, SKM, Diploma or equivalent qualification in Interior Design, Building, Construction, Architecture or related fields.
• Minimum 1 years' experience in interior fit-out or renovation projects is preferred.
• Knowledge of interior finishing materials and construction methods.
• Able to read and interpret construction drawings accurately.
• Strong coordination, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with designers and project teams.
• Possess own transport and a valid driving license.
