Job summary

Confidential EPC Company in Selangor, Malaysia is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager, Project Planner for a 6–12 month contract. You will oversee project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring and controls across EPC activities.

The role requires Mandarin/Chinese proficiency, English communication, 5+ years in project planning, and hands-on use of Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project. Bachelor's in Engineering or related field, with strong scheduling and KPI reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or related discipline.
• 5+ years of project planning/project controls experience.
• Experience with EPC/EPCC, power generation, infrastructure or renewable energy projects is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of project scheduling, baseline management and critical path analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and update the project master schedule using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
• Prepare baseline schedules aligned with scope, milestones and contractual deliverables.
• Monitor progress and identify schedule variances and potential delays.
• Coordinate with EPC/EPCC teams to collect and update progress data.
• Perform schedule and critical path analysis to identify risks and mitigation plans.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly project progress reports.
• Develop S-curves, histograms and productivity metrics for management review.
• Support cost/resource loading and tracking of project KPIs.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors for schedules and progress updates.
