Job summary

Powertech Service And Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking a Project Planner to join our project team on a full-time basis. Based in Rawang Kuala Lumpur, you will develop, maintain, and optimise project schedules, ensuring engineering initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.

You will work with engineering teams, contractors, and stakeholders, identify critical paths and risks, and produce planning documentation for senior management and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant engineering or project field.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex data.
• Experience with project scheduling and critical path methods.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining project schedules using planning tools.
• Identifying critical paths, dependencies, and risks.

Powertech Service and Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking a Project Planner to join our project team on a full-time basis. Based in Rawang Kuala Lumpur, this role is fundamental to the successful delivery of our engineering projects. As a Project Planner, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimising project schedules, ensuring that all engineering initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This position plays a critical role in bridging the gap between project management and engineering execution, providing essential planning support that drives operational excellence across our portfolio.

What you'll be doing

• Developing and maintaining comprehensive project schedules using industry-standard planning tools and methodologies
• Identifying critical paths, dependencies, and potential scheduling risks to ensure timely project delivery
• Coordinating with engineering teams, contractors, and stakeholders to gather accurate project data and timeline requirements
• Monitoring project progress against established baselines and preparing regular schedule reports and forecasts
• Identifying schedule variances and recommending corrective actions to keep projects on track
• Supporting resource allocation and capacity planning to optimise team utilisation across multiple projects
• Collaborating with project managers to ensure alignment between schedules, budgets, and scope
• Preparing and presenting project planning documentation to senior management and client stakeholders
• Identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains in planning methodologies
• Maintaining accurate project records and documentation in compliance with company standards

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in project planning within the engineering or construction sector
• Proficiency in project management software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar scheduling tools
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies, including critical path analysis and resource levelling
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with complex project data
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present information clearly to diverse audiences
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously whilst maintaining attention to detail
• Familiarity with engineering project delivery models and construction processes
• Knowledge of risk management and contingency planning principles
• Professional certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent would be advantageous
