Job summary

Vertiv seeks an experienced Project Manager to coordinate and ensure successful implementation of assigned projects by appointed vendors at our data centre sites in Malaysia. The role involves coordinating with departments, understanding customer needs, and driving timely delivery.

Requirements include an engineering degree and 7–10 years in enterprise/IT project management, strong leadership and bilingual English/Bahasa Malaysia skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or equivalent; 7–10 years in enterprise/IT with project management in turnkey data centre site prep.
• Strong knowledge of project management techniques and good communications skills.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation and communication skills.
• Good spoken and written skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Self-motivated, team player and customer focus.

• Ensure high standard and quality from purchase order to payment receipt.

Description for internal candidates:

To assist the Project Management Team to co-ordinate and ensure that the implementation for assigned projects are successfully implemented by the appointed vendors.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist theProject ManagementTeam to co-ordinate with other departments to secure resources needed for projects which are under his direct supervision.


• Understand customer needs in order to achieve overall project goals and objectives as well as to secure high level of customer satisfaction.


• Participate in project meetings with various customers under his direct supervision.


• Assist Project ManagementTeam for schedules implementation to ensure smooth flow of the project implementation.


• Assist Project ManagementTeam to deliver set profit margins of projects.


• To maintain good working relationship with customers and other various Vertiv divisions and departments.


• Coordinate all the M&E services in efficient manner at site.


• Supervise, motivate and develop his direct project team member for continual improvement and optimised performance.


• To understand customer requirements in order to achieve overall project goals and objectives as well as to secure high level of customer satisfaction.


• To be responsible for high standard and good quality of all installation work from P.O. to receipt of payment.


• To attend progress meetings and to understand customer requirements.


• To inform customer on the progress of all the projects that under his team.


• To provide satisfactory service in order to maintain high level customer satisfaction.


• To coordinate all the M&E services in efficient manner at site.


• To assist thePMO Director, Project Managementfor planning implementation schedules and human resource allocation to ensure smooth implementation within budget and time frame of every project.

REQUIREMENTS:

• A Degree in Engineering fields or equivalent with minimum 7-10 years working experience in enterprise and IT industry with major involvement in project management in the turnkey data centre site preparation works.


• Strong knowledge in project management techniques and good communications skills.


• Excellent leadership, negotiation and communication skills.


• Good spoken and written skills both in English and Bahasa Malaysia.


• Self-motivated, good team player and customer focus.
