Job summary

Malakoff Corporation Berhad is seeking a capable Project Manager / Project Engineer to support the Large Scale Solar (LSS) project in Sarawak. The role involves coordinating project activities and ensuring smooth execution from engineering to commissioning.

The candidate should have strong electrical engineering knowledge and 5–10 years of experience in power, renewable energy, or infrastructure projects. Experience in LSS or utility-scale renewable energy projects is an advantage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5–10 years of experience in project management or engineering in power, renewable energy, or infrastructure projects.
• Experience in Large Scale Solar (LSS) or utility-scale renewable energy projects is advantageous.
• Strong technical understanding of electrical systems and construction activities.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, coordination, and execution from engineering to commissioning.
• Monitor progress to meet schedule, budget, and technical requirements.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and internal teams.
• Review engineering designs and project specifications.
• Assist in managing project risks and mitigation.
• Ensure safety, regulatory compliance and company policies.
• Prepare project reports and progress updates.
• Support site supervision during construction and installation.

Malakoff Corporation Berhad is seeking a capable Project Manager / Project Engineer to support the development and execution of our Large Scale Solar (LSS) project in Sarawak. The role will be responsible for coordinating project activities, ensuring smooth execution of engineering and construction works, and supporting the successful delivery of the project.

This position requires strong technical knowledge in electrical engineering and experience in power, renewable energy, or infrastructure related projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the planning, coordination, and execution of project activities from engineering to commissioning
• Monitor project progress to ensure work is delivered according to schedule, budget, and technical requirements
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and internal project teams to ensure effective project implementation
• Review engineering designs, technical documents, and project specifications
• Assist in managing project risks, issues, and mitigation plans
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies
• Prepare project reports, documentation, and progress updates for management
• Support site supervision and technical coordination during construction and installation phases

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience in project management or engineering roles within power, renewable energy, solar, or infrastructure projects
• Experience in Large Scale Solar (LSS) or utility scale renewable energy projects will be an added advantage
• Strong technical understanding of electrical systems, project coordination, and construction activities
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work in a dynamic project environment

Location

Preference will be given to Sarawakian candidates who are familiar with the local environment and project landscape.
