Job summary

Malakoff invites an experienced Lead, Interconnecting Facility (275kV) to drive the delivery of a large-scale solar project in Malaysia. You will lead engineering, construction, testing, commissioning and energization of the 275kV Interconnecting Facility, ensuring grid connection and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in transmission, substations or utility infrastructure projects.
• At least 5 years of experience leading 132kV or 275kV interconnecting facility or transmission substation projects.
• Strong knowledge of high voltage substations, Protection and Control systems, SCADA, IEC 61850 and grid interconnection requirements.
• Experience with utility-scale renewable energy, power generation or transmission projects is highly preferred.
• Experience working with TNB Grid, Single Buyer and Energy Commission requirements is an advantage.
• Excellent technical, leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution and delivery of the 275kV Interconnecting Facility works.
• Manage engineering, construction, testing, commissioning and energization activities.
• Coordinate all technical interfaces between the solar plant and the national grid.
• Review engineering designs, protection schemes, SCADA systems and commissioning procedures.
• Liaise with TNB Grid, Single Buyer, consultants, contractors and regulatory authorities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with Grid Code, technical standards, project specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor project progress, technical risks and contractor performance to achieve project milestones.
• Support project management in resolving technical issues and ensuring successful COD.

About the Role

Malakoff is seeking an experienced Lead, Interconnecting Facility (275kV) to support the delivery of a large scale solar (LSS5+) project in Malaysia. This role is responsible for leading the engineering, construction, testing, commissioning and energization of the 275kV Interconnecting Facility, ensuring full compliance with TNB Grid, Single Buyer, Energy Commission and project requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with EPC contractors, consultants and key stakeholders to ensure successful grid connection and project completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution and delivery of the 275kV Interconnecting Facility works.
• Manage engineering, construction, testing, commissioning and energization activities.
• Coordinate all technical interfaces between the solar plant and the national grid.
• Review engineering designs, protection schemes, SCADA systems and commissioning procedures.
