Job summary

China Construction Yangtze River (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd in Kapar, Selangor, is looking for a skilled Construction Manager to oversee large-scale projects from conception to completion. You will lead on-site and off-site activities, align deliverables, and manage costs to ensure timely delivery.

Ideal candidates will be fluent in Mandarin and English, hold a related bachelor’s degree, and have 6+ years of project/construction management experience, with mobility across Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Mandarin and English fluency required.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Building Construction, Construction Management or Architecture.
• At least 6 years of project/construction management experience.
• Willingness to travel within Malaysia; ISO 9001 knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion.
• Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
• Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with CIDB and safety regulations.
• Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors.
• Select tools, materials and equipment and track inventory.
• Meet contractual conditions of performance.
• Review the work progress on daily basis.
• Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
• Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
• Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licences.
• Analyse, manage and mitigate risks.
• Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.

Requirements

• Candidates must be fluent in both Mandarin and English. We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.
• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Building Construction, Construction Management or Architecture or any equivalent related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of working experience in project/construction management with exposure in building of highrise / factory.
• Computer literate with Microsoft Office; Project, Power Point & Auto CAD.
• Willing to travel within Malaysia.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 standard in the construction industry will be an added advantage.
