Job summary

PERSOL Malaysia seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead full lifecycle projects from engineering through handover, ensuring quality, schedule, and cost targets. The role involves coordinating with clients, engineering, procurement, and service teams to deliver successful outcomes.

You will oversee the project execution team, manage suppliers, and participate in key client meetings. Occasional travel locally and overseas is required to support project needs.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering required.
• Minimum 10 years of project management experience in large local or multi-national companies or as a sub-contractor.
• Experience with process plants, semiconductor plants, railway/metro systems.
• Willingness to travel locally and overseas for 1–2 days or 1–2 weeks as project requirements.
• Fluent in English and Malay.
• Project Management certification advantageous.
• EPC/sub-contract experience for offshore/onshore oil & gas facilities is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects through full lifecycle from engineering to handover, ensuring quality, time and cost constraints.
• Lead client management with clear, timely communications and meetings (kickoffs, progress reviews, HAZOP, design workshops).
• Oversee project execution team for timely approval and completion of deliverables.
• Monitor supplier progress and mitigate delays with timely actions.

Job description

Manage projects through the entire lifecycle from engineering, procurement, assembly, testing and commissioning until handover to the client according to quality, time and cost constraints.

2. Client management

Close and timely communication with the client for clarifications and instructions to mitigate any potential cost and time impacts to the completion. Attend to all client required meetings e.g. kickoff meetings, progress meetings, HAZOP, design workshop etc

Candidate Requirements

Degree in electrical/mechanical engineering related discipline

Minimum 10 years work experience in a project management role (as engineer/assistant manager/project manager) in large local or multi-national companies (or as their sub-contractor)

Experience with more technical projects e.g. process plants, semi-conductor plants, railway/metro system

Occasional requirement to travel to site (local and overseas) for 1-2 days or 1-2 weeks (typically, subject to project requirements)

Fluent in English and Malay

Advantages to have Project Management certification

Advantages to have EPC/Sub-contract experience for:

onshore oil & gas facilities (e.g. refineries, petrochemical plants)
