Job summary

SKY POWER SDN BHD is seeking a Project Manager (Electrical) to lead electrical/M&E project delivery from start to handover. You will plan schedules, coordinate with clients and subcontractors, review drawings, and ensure safety and quality across projects.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in electrical/M&E construction, strong leadership, and the ability to manage multiple sites, with willingness to travel as required. This is a full-time role based in Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in electrical engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in electrical/M&E construction, coordination or project management.
• Experience in building, infrastructure, commercial, industrial or high-rise projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical installation, M&E coordination and commissioning.
• Ability to read drawings and specifications.
• Good leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical/M&E project works from start to handover, ensuring quality and safety.
• Plan and monitor schedules, manpower, materials, subcontractors, suppliers and site activities.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, main contractors, subcontractors and internal teams for smooth execution.
• Review and coordinate drawings, submissions, method statements and testing documents.

• Attend site, technical and progress meetings; track action items and close them.
• Monitor project progress and address delays or risks with timely actions.
• Coordinate with QS/Contract and Procurement teams on cost, variations and material availability.

Job description

As a Project Manager (Electrical) at SKY POWER SDN BHD, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of electrical engineering projects. This is a full-time position. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful completion of projects within budget and timeline constraints, while upholding the highest standards of quality and safety.

What you'll be doing

Manage, coordinate and monitor electrical / M&E project works from project commencement until completion, testing, commissioning and handover.

Plan, arrange and monitor project schedule, manpower, materials, subcontractors, suppliers, site activities and overall work progress.

Liaise and coordinate closely with clients, consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, authorities and internal departments to ensure smooth project execution.

Review and coordinate construction drawings, shop drawings, technical submissions, material submissions, method statements, inspection requests, testing and commissioning documents and other project-related submissions.

Supervise and monitor site installation works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements, quality standards, safety requirements and project procedures.

Attend site meetings, technical meetings, coordination meetings and progress meetings, and ensure all action items are followed up and closed accordingly.

Monitor project progress against the approved work programme and identify any delay, obstruction, site constraint or potential impact to the project timeline.

Identify technical issues, site coordination problems, variation works, delay events, material issues and project risks, and propose practical solutions or corrective actions.

Coordinate with QS / Contract team on progress claims, variation orders, site instructions, delay records, supporting documents and project cost-related matters.

Coordinate with Procurement team to ensure timely material ordering, delivery, inspection and availability at site according to project requirements.

Ensure proper project documentation, including site records, progress reports, inspection records, testing records, correspondence, photos, meeting minutes and other supporting documents.

Provide technical guidance and support to site supervisors, project teams and subcontractors to ensure works are carried out properly and efficiently.

Coordinate testing, commissioning, authority inspection, consultant inspection, defect rectification and project handover requirements.

Monitor quality, safety and environmental compliance at site in accordance with company procedures, project requirements and relevant statutory requirements.

Report project progress, key issues, risks, delays and required management decisions to the Management on a timely basis.

What we're looking for

Degree / Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Building Services Engineering or related field.

Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in electrical / M&E construction, project coordination or project management.

Experience in building, infrastructure, commercial, industrial, high-rise, mixed development or property development projects will be an added advantage.

Strong knowledge of electrical installation works, M&E coordination, site supervision, drawings, specifications, testing and commissioning requirements.

Familiar with project work programme, site progress monitoring, inspection procedures, material submission, technical submission and authority / consultant requirements.

Good understanding of electrical systems such as LV electrical installation, switchboards, cabling, lighting, power, earthing, containment, testing and commissioning works.

Able to read and interpret construction drawings, electrical schematics, specifications, method statements and related project documents.

Able to coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, authorities and internal project teams.

Good leadership, communication, planning, coordination, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Able to identify project risks, site constraints and technical issues, and provide practical and timely solutions.

Able to work independently, manage multiple tasks, work under pressure and meet tight project deadlines.

Responsible, proactive, disciplined, organised and committed to delivering quality work.

Computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and project planning / scheduling tools.

Possess own transport and willing to travel to project sites when required.

Registration with Board of Engineers Malaysia, competent person certification, CIDB / safety-related certification or relevant electrical certification will be an added advantage.
