Job summary

GMRecruitment Sdn Bhd is advertising for an experienced professional to lead Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) across mission-critical projects in Malaysia. The role involves liaison with clients, contractors and authorities, ensuring adherence to EHS standards and pre-qualification requirements.

The incumbent will manage site due diligence, documentation, and coordination with operations, finance and other teams to deliver projects safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• :Requirements include a minimum bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, building services, facilities management or related engineering fields.
• 5+ lines of evidence-based requirements cover communication, leadership, interpersonal, numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills, CSA applications knowledge, stakeholder management, attention to detail and the ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary contact and representative for the company with clients, contractors, supply chain partners and authorities on land development, power, water, planning and building matters.
• Take overall responsibility for Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) across projects, ensuring compliance with EHS pre-qualification requirements, the EHS Manual/Program and company EHS policies.
• Assist with site due diligence and land acquisition activities.
• Prepare, maintain and keep project documentation up to date from inception to handover to Operations.
• Support Projects, Solutions and Operations teams during sales meetings.
• Collaborate with Finance, Solutions and Operations teams on day-to-day activities to ensure successful project delivery.
• Lead the team in identifying hazards and risks and ensure effective risk controls are implemented.
• Maintain ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.

Job description

• Take overall responsibility for Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) matters across projects, ensuring compliance with EHS pre-qualification requirements, the EHS Project Manual/Program and company EHS policies.
• Assist with site due diligence and land acquisition activities.
• Prepare, maintain and keep all required project documentation up to date, from project inception through to handover to the Operations team.
• Support the Projects, Solutions and Operations teams during sales meetings.
• Work closely with the Finance, Solutions and Operations teams on day-to-day activities to ensure successful project delivery.
• Lead the team in identifying occupational hazards and risks, and ensure effective risk control measures are implemented.
• Maintain the effectiveness of the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety Management Systems.

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Facilities Management or other related engineering disciplines.
• More than 10 years of relevant working experience in project management, particularly within mission-critical facilities.
• Experience in managing construction processes throughout all project stages, including mobilisation, construction/installation, testing and commissioning (T&C), project closeout and handover.
• Good communication and leadership skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals and personnel across different departments.
• Excellent numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good knowledge and understanding of relevant CSA engineering applications.
• Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish and maintain relationships across various stakeholders.
• High attention to detail and the ability to remain focused on tasks.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Additional relevant certificates will be an advantage.
