Barry Callebaut Manufacturing Malaysia Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking an experienced project engineer to lead CAPEX initiatives from planning through completion, ensuring safety and quality across the operation.
The role collaborates with the Regional Engineering Manager on budgeting, develops scopes and schedules, coordinates contractors, and drives risk-managed execution in a manufacturing environment.
Lead and manage engineering and CAPEX projects from planning through execution and completion.
Support the Regional Engineering Manager in project budgeting and CAPEX planning activities.
Develop project scopes, technical specifications, schedules, and implementation plans.
Coordinate and manage contractors, consultants, suppliers, and other project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Conduct technical evaluations and qualification assessments for contractors and service providers.
Drive project execution while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and company standards.
Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation plans to ensure successful project delivery.
Facilitate project meetings, toolbox talks, and stakeholder discussions to ensure effective communication and alignment.
Collaborate with Purchasing in vendor evaluation, price comparison, and commercial negotiations.
Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and according to agreed specifications.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial or related discipline).
Minimum 5-8 years of experience in project management within manufacturing, industrial, engineering, FMCG, food manufacturing, or related environments.
Proven experience managing CAPEX projects and contractor coordination.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Good understanding of project planning, budgeting, cost control, and risk management.
Strong leadership and problem-solving capabilities.
Knowledge of safety regulations and contractor management practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent project management certification would be an added advantage.
