Job summary

Randstad Malaysia is seeking an experienced Projects Engineer to manage CAPEX initiatives in a high-volume FMCG manufacturing setting. You will guide projects from feasibility to handover, ensuring budgets, timelines and technical specs are met.

You will coordinate suppliers, contractors and internal teams, implement improvements, and provide pneumatics and mechanical support. Fluent English and Bahasa Malaysia are essential to communicate across teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering or related field.
• Minimum five years of relevant engineering or project experience in high-volume manufacturing.
• Experience managing equipment installation, upgrades, or capital investment projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, pneumatics and automation with troubleshooting.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and pneumatic schematics.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Project; Microsoft Office familiarity.
• Knowledge of TPM, continuous improvement, and quality/ environmental standards.
• Excellent coordination and communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Manage project budgets, schedules, cash flows and risks.
• Coordinate suppliers, contractors and internal teams for safe and effective execution.
• Evaluate proposals, source vendors and negotiate terms.
• Drive equipment and process improvements to boost productivity and cost efficiency.
• Provide mechanical and pneumatic technical support and troubleshooting.
• Monitor performance post-handover and coordinate corrective actions.
• Report progress to management and support team development.

about the qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least five years of relevant engineering or project experience within a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably FMCG.
• Experience managing equipment installation, upgrades or capital investment projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, pneumatics and automation, with hands-on troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and pneumatic schematics.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; familiarity with Microsoft Project.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement, TPM and relevant quality and environmental standards.
• Strong stakeholder coordination, problem-solving and communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Experience with data analysis and Six Sigma tools would be an advantage.
