Job summary

MGB Berhad is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and set up the site operation from ground up, building the contractor team and guiding the project from mobilization through construction to handover.

You will oversee mobilization, project organization, resource planning, programme development and coordination with clients, consultants and suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and budget adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or professional degree in civil/construction field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant building/construction experience.
• Main contractor experience in high-rise residential projects preferred.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead and set up the entire site operation from the ground up, including establishing the site organization, building and managing the full main contractor team, and driving the project from initial mobilization through construction to completion and handover.

Job Description

Lead the overall project and site setup from the initial stage, including site mobilization, project organization structure, manpower planning, site facilities and operational requirements.

Build, organize and manage the project team, ensuring appropriate resources and competencies are in place for successful project delivery.

Lead and coordinate the project from pre-construction/site mobilization through construction, testing & commissioning, CCC and handover.

Coordinate internal resources, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and third parties/vendors for the successful execution of the project.

Ensure the project is delivered on time, within scope, quality requirements and budget.

Define project scope and objectives together with relevant stakeholders and ensure technical feasibility.

Ensure appropriate resource planning, availability and allocation throughout the project.

Develop and maintain a detailed master project programme to monitor and track progress.

Manage changes to project scope, schedule and costs using appropriate verification and control techniques.

Monitor project performance, construction progress and key milestones, and implement recovery or mitigation plans where required.

Report project progress, key issues and risks to Management and escape critical matters when necessary.

Manage relationships and coordination with the client, consultants, authorities, subcontractors and other key stakeholders.

Perform project risk management and implement appropriate mitigation measures.

Manage and coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to ensure works are executed according to programme, specifications and quality requirements.

Chair and/or participate in project, site coordination, technical and progress meetings.

Delegate responsibilities based on team members' strengths, competencies and experience.

Monitor short-term and long-term project targets and ensure timely completion of key milestones.

Manage project budgetary objectives and work closely with the commercial/contracts team on cost control and project financial performance.

Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, contractual requirements, safety standards and applicable regulatory requirements.

Maintain comprehensive project documentation, records and reports.

Provide leadership, guidance and direction to the project team and continuously develop team capability.

Perform other project-related duties as assigned by Management.

Job Requirements

Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree / Professional Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent.

At least 5 years of relevant working experience in building/construction projects.

Candidates with main contractor experience in high-rise residential building projects will be highly preferred.

Strong understanding of the overall construction cycle, from site mobilization, substructure and superstructure works through architectural/M&E works, testing & commissioning, CCC and handover.

Good leadership, planning, coordination, problem-solving and stakeholder-management skills.

Proficient in relevant project management and construction software such as MS Office, AutoCAD and Primavera.

Able to lead multidisciplinary site teams and coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.

Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage programme, resources, costs and project risks.
