Position Overview
The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery of projects throughout the entire project lifecycle. The successful candidate will act as the primary focal point between clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with contractual and technical requirements.
This role requires strong leadership capabilities, commercial awareness, technical understanding, stakeholder management skills, and extensive experience managing multidisciplinary teams in complex project environments.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Execution
- Lead the overall execution of engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up activities.
- Establish project objectives, execution strategies, and delivery plans aligned with client requirements.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, resources, and quality objectives throughout the project lifecycle.
- Drive project teams toward successful achievement of milestones and deliverables.
- Ensure alignment between engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational requirements.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams comprising engineering, project controls, procurement, construction, HSE, quality, and commissioning personnel.
Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and key stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
- Conduct project review meetings, progress discussions, and management presentations.
- Ensure effective communication across all project functions and stakeholders.
- Manage customer expectations and ensure prompt resolution of project-related issues.
Project Planning & Controls
- Develop and oversee project execution plans, schedules, budgets, and resource loading requirements.
- Monitor project progress against key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Review and approve project schedules and recovery plans where required.
- Identify schedule slippages and implement corrective actions to maintain project objectives.
- Ensure cost forecasting and budget reporting are accurate and timely.
Commercial & Contract Management
- Manage project commercial performance and financial objectives.
- Review contracts and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Evaluate variations, claims, change orders, and contract amendments.
- Monitor procurement activities and supplier performance.
- Support negotiation of contracts and commercial agreements.
- Ensure proper management of project risks affecting cost and schedule.
Risk Management
- Identify project risks and opportunities throughout all project phases.
- Develop mitigation plans and contingency strategies.
- Lead risk assessments and periodic project risk reviews.
- Implement proactive measures to minimize project disruptions.
- Escalate critical risks to management and stakeholders when necessary.
HSE & Quality Management
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE regulations and company policies.
- Ensure all project activities adhere to industry standards and quality requirements.
- Participate in safety reviews, audits, and lessons learned exercises.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across project execution activities.
- Ensure compliance with local and international regulatory requirements.
Construction, Commissioning & Start-Up
- Oversee construction and commissioning execution strategies.
- Coordinate site activities to achieve project milestones safely and efficiently.
- Ensure successful completion of punch list, system completion, and handover activities.
- Support commissioning and operational readiness activities.
- Facilitate final project handover and close-out documentation.
Reporting & Governance
- Provide regular project status reports to senior management and clients.
- Monitor project performance metrics and financial results.
- Prepare executive presentations and project reviews.
- Ensure proper project documentation and reporting standards are maintained.
- Conduct lessons learned workshops and project close-out reviews.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or related discipline.
- Master's Degree is considered an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 10-15 years of experience within Oil & Gas, Energy, Petrochemical, LNG, Power, or Industrial projects.
- Minimum 5 years in a Project Manager position leading major projects.
- Proven experience managing FEED, EPC, EPCM, EPCC, greenfield, and brownfield projects.
- Experience working with international operators, EPC contractors, or engineering consultancies.
- Demonstrated success delivering large-scale projects from concept through commissioning and handover.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong understanding of engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning processes.
- Familiarity with project controls, planning, scheduling, cost management, and risk management.
- Knowledge of international codes, standards, and best practices.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Understanding of contract administration and commercial management principles.

- Certified Project Management Professional
- NEBOSH or equivalent HSE certification (advantage)
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer status (advantage)
