Job summary

GRAND VENTURE TECHNOLOGY (PENANG) SDN. BHD. is seeking a Project Coordinator/Manager to support customers from RFQ through final shipment. You will coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, purchasing, planning, production, quality and logistics to meet delivery schedules and resolve issues.

The role requires a Diploma/Bachelor’s in mechanical/manufacturing engineering and at least 3 years in manufacturing or project management, with strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical/manufacturing engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years in manufacturing, project management or customer account management.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning, order fulfilment and delivery coordination.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager from RFQ to final shipment, ensuring clear communication and coordination.
• Serve as the primary contact for customers on project status, technical requirements, and delivery schedules.
• Supervise and guide Planners in daily planning, order tracking, material follow-up and shipment coordination.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Purchasing, Planning, Production, Quality and Logistics to meet customer requirements and manage changes.
• Monitor milestones, forecasts, order changes and delivery performance with proactive follow-up on risks.
• Identify issues affecting delivery, quality, cost or satisfaction and coordinate recovery actions.

Job description

Assist the Project Manager in managing assigned customer accounts, ensuring effective communication and coordination from RFQ, quotation and NPI through order execution, production follow-up and final shipment.

Act as the primary contact for assigned customers regarding project status, technical requirements, delivery schedules and operational issues, escalating major concerns when necessary.

Supervise and guide assigned Planners in daily planning, order tracking, material follow-up, production monitoring and shipment coordination.

Coordinate with Engineering, Purchasing, Planning, Production, Quality and Logistics to fulfil customer requirements, manage engineering changes, sample submissions, FAI approvals and new project launches.

Monitor project milestones, customer forecasts, order changes and delivery performance, ensuring timely follow-up on outstanding actions and potential delivery risks.

Identify issues affecting delivery, quality, cost or customer satisfaction, coordinate recovery actions and provide regular updates to the Project Manager.

Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and perform other reasonable duties as assigned by the immediate superior.

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of working experience in manufacturing, project management, customer account management or a related field.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning, order fulfilment and delivery coordination. Experience in NPI or new project launches is an advantage.
• Strong customer communication, project coordination, problem-solving and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple customer accounts and guide assigned Planners.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and project tracking tools, with the ability to coordinate cross-functional activities, manage priorities and escalation issues in a timely manner.
