Job summary

Kanry Search is seeking an experienced Head of Manufacturing Engineering & NPI for Malaysia to lead the Engineering/NPI function and drive industrialisation from concept to production ramp-up. Head of Manufacturing Engineering & NPI (MNC)

We are seeking an experienced engineering leader to oversee Engineering and New Product Introduction (NPI). You will guide customer projects from initial technical discussions through industrialisation and production ramp-up, ensuring manufacturing solutions meet agreed quality, cost and delivery targets.

Key responsibilities

Lead the Engineering/NPI function, setting clear priorities, technical direction and accountability for project outcomes.

Partner with Sales to evaluate customer requirements and develop practical, manufacturable solutions.

Support quotations with production cost estimates, technical assumptions and manufacturing feasibility assessments.

Take ownership of awarded projects through process development, industrialisation and ramp-up until production is stable and meets agreed quality and cost targets.

Establish project standards, review stages and controls covering scope, schedules, budgets, quality and risks.

Coordinate with Production, Quality and Supply Chain to resolve technical issues and ensure a structured handover to production.

Coach engineers and project leaders to strengthen technical expertise, project delivery and succession capability.

Standardise engineering methods, CAD practices and technical documentation where appropriate.

Encourage knowledge sharing across teams and collaborate with other group sites on benchmarking and technical improvements.

Apply Six Sigma and structured problem-solving methods to improve process capability, productivity, quality and manufacturing costs.

About you

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering, NPI, industrialisation or project engineering.

Strong industry experience in precision manufacturing, fasteners, machined components or related products.

Proven leadership of Engineering/NPI teams and customer projects from quotation through production ramp-up.

Sound knowledge of project management, Six Sigma, structured problem solving and process capability improvement.

Demonstrated ability to improve productivity, product quality and production costs.

Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills, including effective communication in English.

Ability to collaborate closely with commercial, production, quality, supply chain and cross-site teams.
