Job summary

Jardine Schindler Group (JSG) through ONE1JSG invites a Project Engineer to oversee lift and escalator projects in Malaysia from planning to completion. You will coordinate with clients, consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to contract specifics.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering and at least 3 years in project coordination or site management, preferably within lift and escalator projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years in project management, coordination, or site management; lift & escalator experience preferred.
• Knowledge of project planning, site coordination, contracts and progress claims.
• Familiarity with JKKP requirements and lift & escalator installation standards an advantage.
• Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia; strong stakeholder engagement.
• PE/PME or equivalent certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate lift and escalator projects from initiation through successful completion, ensuring contract and spec adherence.
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with clients, consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor progress and site activities, resolve issues, allocate manpower and resources, and perform regular site visits.
• Prepare and manage project documentation including progress claims, variations, and reports in VMS and MS Project.
• Coordinate authority inspections and statutory requirements, securing timely approvals and payments.
• Ensure safety, quality and environmental standards are followed by all site personnel and contractors.
• Support project performance and customer satisfaction through continuous improvement and stakeholder relations.

Join our team as a Project Engineer and play a key role in delivering lift and escalator projects from planning to completion. You will be responsible for project coordination, site execution, contract administration, stakeholder management, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to quality standards. Candidates with extensive relevant experience may be considered for a Senior Project Engineer position.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate lift and escalator projects from commencement through successful completion, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, technical specifications, project schedules, and company standards.

Coordinate and communicate effectively with clients, consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and timely delivery.

Monitor project progress and site activities, proactively resolving issues, coordinating manpower and resources, and conducting regular site visits to ensure works are completed according to approved specifications and quality standards.

Prepare and manage project documentation, including progress claims, variation orders, project reports, schedules, and updates in VMS and MS Project.

Coordinate authority inspections and statutory requirements, ensuring timely approvals, certifications, and follow-up on payment claims.

Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards, and monitor adherence by main contractors, subcontractors, and site personnel at all project sites.

Support project performance and customer satisfaction by driving continuous improvement and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline.

Minimum 3 years of experience in project management, project coordination, or site management preferably within the lift & escalator

Knowledge of project planning, site coordination, contract administration, and progress claims.

Familiarity with JKKP requirements and lift & escalator installation standards will be an added advantage.

Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.

Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken.

Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Mechanical Engineer (PME), or equivalent certification will be an added advantage.
