Job summary

Fraser and Neave in Kampung Tampin, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, is seeking a Project Engineer – Electrical & Automation to lead end-to-end electrical and automation projects from concept to handover.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical/Mechatronics/Electrical & Electronic Engineering, 5–7 years of automation project experience, and preferred BEM registration. You will manage schedules, budgets, FAT/SAT, and collaborate with maintenance to improve reliability and energy efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Electrical & Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• 5–7 years of experience in electrical and automation project engineering.
• Registered Graduate Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) preferred.
• Chargeman Certificate (AO/A1/A4) is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end electrical and automation projects from concept to handover.
• Prepare schedules, budgets, cost estimates, and progress reports, and monitor milestones.
• Coordinate shutdown activities with operations to minimise production disruptions.
• Design, review, and supervise installation on electrical tasks and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Coordinate FAT and SAT and ensure commissioning documentation and handover reports.
• Provide technical support to maintenance teams and improve equipment reliability.
• Lead electrical root cause analysis for major equipment failures.
• Support digitalization and Industry 4.0 initiatives and energy-saving opportunities.

Project Engineer – Electrical & Automation

Fraser and Neave – Kampung Tampin, Negeri Sembilan

Manage end-to-end electrical and automation projects from concept, design, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, and handoverr.

Prepare project schedules, budgets, cost estimates, and progress reports and monitor project milestones and ensure timely completion.

Coordinate shutdown activities with operations to minimise production disruptions.

Design, review, and supervise installation on the electrical related task under the project and ensure electrical installations comply with Malaysian regulations and standards.

Coordinate Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT).

Verify electrical and automation performance meets design specifications.

Prepare commissioning documentation and handover reports.

Supervise contractors to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and project requirements.

Review technical submissions, shop drawings, and method statements.

Provide technical support to maintenance teams and identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.

Lead electrical root cause analysis for major equipment failures.

Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), Electricity Supply Act, Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga) regulations.

Recommend automation technologies to improve operational efficiency.

Support digitalization and Industry 4.0 initiatives.

Identify energy-saving opportunities and sustainability improvements.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or equivalent.

5–7 years of experience in electrical and automation project engineering.

Registered Graduate Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) is preferred.

Chargeman Certificate (AO/A1/A4) is an added advantage.

Experience in dairy farms, food manufacturing, FMCG, or industrial plants is preferred.

Hands-on experience with industrial automation systems.

Experience managing contractors and capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent project management and organizational abilities and effective communication and stakeholder management.
