Job summary

Jora Malaysia seeks a Mechanical/Electrical project coordinator to plan, supervise, and guide site activities, coordinating with engineers, technicians, and subcontractors to ensure on-schedule completion.

The role requires a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and at least 1 year of relevant experience, with reading drawings and AutoCAD skills treated as advantages. Willingness to travel and work weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 1 year of relevant experience in M&E, construction, engineering, or project management; fresh graduates are welcome.
• Basic ability to read and interpret M&E drawings; AutoCAD knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise M&E project activities, including manpower, materials, work schedules, and site execution.
• Lead and coordinate Project Coordinators, Chargemen, Wiring Technicians, subcontractors, and other site personnel to ensure smooth project progress.
• Monitor project progress against the planned schedule, drawings, specifications, quality requirements, and customer deadlines.
• Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and advice on Mechanical and Electrical works, including site inspections and rectification works.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including site reports, progress reports, project schedules, material requisitions, quotations, and other related documents.
• Coordinate with customers, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal departments on project requirements, site meetings, materials, and technical matters.
• Assist in site surveys, tender/quotation preparation, variation orders, subcontractor costing, progress claims, and project-related commercial matters.
• Ensure projects are completed in accordance with company procedures, QMS, safety and quality requirements, including providing emergency/on-call support when required.

Requirement:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in M&E, construction, engineering, or project management; fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• Basic knowledge of reading and interpreting M&E drawings; knowledge of AutoCAD or other engineering software is an added advantage.
• Candidate with experience/exposure to ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System is an added advantage.
• Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with customers, subcontractors, and site teams.
• Willing to travel, work on weekends/public holidays when required, and provide emergency/on-call support.
• Responsible, proactive, well-organised, and able to work independently as well as in a team.
