Job summary

LKH Electric (M) Sdn. Bhd. in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Project Engineer/Manager to oversee electrical project delivery from planning through completion, including pre-sales, site surveys, design drawings and material planning.

The role requires a Diploma in Engineering (Electrical), strong communication in English, Mandarin and Malay, and the ability to interpret drawings and coordinate with contractors, suppliers and customers to ensure on-time project execution and handover.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering.
• Good communication skills and fluency in English, Mandarin and Malay.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings (lighting, single-line diagrams).
• Experience in project planning, coordination and documentation.
• Experience in related industries is a plus.

Job description

The incumbent manages the project from planning and execution to completion to meet the sales order. It involves pre-sales and after sales activities such as site survey and coordination, delivery and material inventory planning to ensure successful fulfilment of contract obligations. It also involves provide drawing design and inventory optimisation leading to profit maximisation.

Jobs Description

Initiate, verify and report the project requirements and specifications with the sales and customers for effective project planning to successful completion (e.g., unit rate or lump sum projects).

Firm up the project scope of work so as to plan and optimise resource, workflow to fulfil the sales order requirements which include but not limited to:

• Busway Project:
  • Design management using computer added design (CAD) software.
  • Manage the submission sample/mock-up and design for approval (e.g., owner, architect, consultant, etc).
  • Oversee and accountable for bill of material (e.g., timeliness, correct specifications, etc).

Execute the scope of project work as assigned or planned.

Prepare engineering drawings (e.g., shop-drawings, technical drawings, etc.) and purchase orders for production.

Monitor and follow-up materials production schedule to meet the sales order requirements.

Manage and ensure timely delivery of project materials for on-site installation as per project's contract schedule.

Build rapport with project contractors, installers and facility owners for smooth project execution and handover.

Attend site meeting for site progress coordination, problem-solving, variation orders and decision-making leading to successful project completion.

Provide staff coaching, mentoring and on-the-job training to increase project execution competency.

Manage to ensure timely invoicing for successful project closure and documentation.

Jobs Requirements

Possess at least Diploma in Engineering, preferably in Electrical Engineering

Good communication skills, fluent in spoken English, Mandarin and Malay to effectively communicate with our diverse client base and stakeholders.

Interpret engineering drawings (e.g., lighting, single-line diagram, schematic diagram, etc.)

Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Experience in related industry (e.g., electronic manufacturing, infrastructure, construction, offshore and marine, aerospace maintenance repair and overhaul, etc.)

Professional attitude and good team spirit

Ability to work and thrive under pressure in fast-paced environment while being able to multi-task
