Job summary

SM ULTIMATE VENTURES ENGINEERING SDN. BHD. is seeking a Project Engineer with 3-5 years of hands-on experience in EPIC projects, industrial automation, and electrical design.

The role involves PLC programming, SCADA configuration, electrical design, and engineering documentation, spanning from concept through commissioning while coordinating with suppliers, contractors, and clients to meet project milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or related engineering.
• 3–5 years of relevant EPIC project experience in industrial automation and electrical engineering.
• Strong knowledge of PLC programming (Schneider, Omron) and SCADA systems (Citect, Vijeo Designer).
• Proficiency in electrical design principles, drawings, and tools.
• Ability to read and interpret isometric drawings and P&ID.
• Experience in preparing FDS, FAT, SAT, and datasheet documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review electrical designs, including load calculations, cable sizing, single-line diagrams, schematics, and panel layouts.
• Program, configure, and troubleshoot Schneider and Omron PLCs.
• Design Citect SCADA and Vijeo Designer applications.
• Prepare and review Functional Design Specifications (FDS).
• Develop FAT and SAT procedures.
• Produce and maintain engineering drawings, isometric drawings, and P&ID documentation.
• Support procurement activities by preparing technical specifications and evaluating vendor proposals.
• Coordinate with project managers, clients, and cross-functional teams to meet milestones.

We are seeking a PROJECT ENGINEER with 3-5 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation and electrical design within EPIC projects. The ideal candidate will be proficient IN PLC PROGRAMMING, SCADA SYSTEMS, ELECTRICAL DESIGN, AND ENGINEERING DOCUMENTATION, with strong technical and commercial awareness to support ENGINEERING, PROCUREMENT, INSTALLATION, AND COMMISSIONING (EPIC) activities. This role requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, managing multidisciplinary tasks and ensuring seamless integration of automation and electrical systems from conceptual design through commissioning.

Key RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and review ELECTRICAL DESIGNS, including load calculations, cable sizing, single-line diagrams, schematics, and panel layouts.
• Program, configure, and troubleshoot SCHNEIDER and OMRON PLCS.
• Design CITECT SCADA and VIJEO DESIGNER applications.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Prepare and review FUNCTIONAL DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS (FDS).
• Develop FACTORY ACCEPTANCE TEST (FAT) and SITE ACCEPTANCE TEST (SAT) procedures.
• Produce and maintain ENGINEERING DRAWINGS, ISOMETRIC DRAWINGS, AND P&ID DOCUMENTATION.
• Support PROCUREMENT ACTIVITIES by preparing technical specifications and evaluating vendor proposals.
• Collaborate with suppliers and contractors to ensure timely delivery of equipment and materials.
• Provide technical input during vendor qualification and equipment selection.
• Supervise and support installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical and automation systems.
• Lead and supervise manpower teams during installation and commissioning activities to ensure safe, efficient, and quality execution.
• Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards during site execution.
• Coordinate with project managers, clients, and cross-functional teams to achieve project milestones.

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in ELECTRICAL, INSTRUMENTATION, OR RELATED ENGINEERING DISCIPLINE.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in EPIC PROJECTS within industrial automation and electrical engineering.
• Strong knowledge of PLC PROGRAMMING (SCHNEIDER, OMRON) and SCADA SYSTEMS (CITECT, VIJEO DESIGNER).
• Proficiency in electrical design principles, drawings, and tools.
• Ability to read and interpret ISOMETRIC DRAWINGS and P&ID.
• Experience in preparing FDS, FAT, SAT, DATASHEET documentation and procedures.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
