Job summary

Airswift seeks a Project Controls Engineer to support oil & gas EPC/EPCIC projects in a demanding engineering environment. You will focus on planning, scheduling, cost control, progress measurement and reporting.

Based in Malaysia, the role involves coordinating across engineering, procurement, construction and finance to maintain cost, schedule and performance against baselines.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Mechatronics or Electrical engineering required.
  • Registration with the Board of Engineering Malaysia (BEM) required.
  • 3–7 years of project controls, planning, cost control or project engineering in Oil & Gas.
  • Experience with EPC/EPCIC offshore projects.
  • Strong planning, scheduling, reporting and risk management skills.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and maintenance of project schedules.
  • Maintain project control systems, reporting tools and project coding structures.
  • Collect, validate and consolidate project progress data for accurate reporting.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly and ad hoc project reports covering progress and performance.
  • Support development of control budgets and cost baselines.
  • Monitor commitments, actual costs, forecast costs and cash flow.
  • Identify and report schedule and cost variances.
  • Maintain change registers and support assessment of cost and schedule impacts.
  • Prepare productivity, performance and KPI reporting.
  • Support risk register updates, mitigation tracking, project close-out and records management.

Project Controls Engineer Position Overview

The Project Controls Engineer position offers an opportunity to contribute to complex Oil & Gas project delivery within a technically demanding engineering environment. This Project Controls Engineer role is focused on supporting planning, scheduling, cost control, progress measurement, reporting, change management and project close-out activities. The Project Controls Engineer will play an important part in helping project teams maintain control of cost, schedule and performance against approved requirements. This Project Controls Engineer opportunity is well suited to candidates looking to develop impact across major EPC or EPCIC project execution.

Role Context

This role sits within the energy sector and supports Oil & Gas project delivery in an EPC or EPCIC environment. The position operates within a project-focused engineering setting and supports coordination across engineering, procurement, construction, contracts and finance functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Essential: Degree in Engineering in Civil, Mechanical, Mechatronics or Electrical disciplines from a recognised higher learning institution.
  • Essential: Registration with the Board of Engineering Malaysia (BEM).
  • Essential: 3 to 7 years of experience in project controls, planning, cost control or project engineering within the Oil & Gas sector.
  • Essential: Experience supporting EPC or EPCIC offshore project environments.
  • Essential: Strong capability in planning and scheduling, cost control, progress measurement, project reporting, change management and risk management.
  • Essential: Proficiency in Primavera P6.
