Job summary

JAC Recruitment Malaysia is seeking a Project Engineer for a civil construction role on a project site in Johor. You will work with consultants to develop layouts, monitor progress, and support project delivery from site.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or related field, has at least 5 years of on-site experience, and demonstrates strong project management, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine layout designs and project-related plans with consultants.
• Coordinate with authorities and assist in approvals and submissions.

• Conduct site visits for material testing, inspections, and project monitoring.
• Ensure construction works comply with approved drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate with consultants and contractors to meet milestones and completion schedules.
• Manage joint inspections, building handovers, and defect rectifications during the DLP.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with consultants to develop and refine layout designs and project-related plans.
• Coordinate with relevant authorities and assist in following up on approvals and project-related submissions.
• Collaborate with Quantity Surveyors on cost optimization initiatives, verification of variation orders, and progress claims.
• Conduct site visits for material testing, work inspections, and project monitoring activities.
• Ensure construction works are executed in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate closely with consultants and contractors to ensure project milestones and completion schedules are achieved.
• Manage joint inspections, building handovers, and the rectification of defects during the Defect Liability Period (DLP).

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering, Project Management or equivalent.
• Preferably with at least 5 years of experience as Project Engineer at Construction / Renovation site, collaborating with contractors and consultants.
• Strong project management and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Willing to be based at project site.
