Job summary

CONSMAT TRADING & TRANSPORT SDN. BHD. invites an experienced Civil Engineer to lead and manage housing and building development projects on site in Sarawak.

You will oversee QA/QC, monitor contracts, and ensure work is delivered within budget and schedule. The role requires a professional degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, 8+ years in construction, and proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office and MS Project.

Qualifications

• Requires professional degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Minimum 8 years' experience in construction, building works.
• Knowledge of PWD or PAM contracts.
• Familiar with AutoCAD, MS Office, MS Project.
• Strong leadership and coordination skills; able to work under tight schedules.
• Preference for Sarawakian.

Job description

Responsibilities

• To lead and manage the project team in the coordination and management of Housing & Building Development Projects;
• To responsible on all QA/QC requirements to the projects;
• To monitor the contracts and ensure completion of works within the approved budget and timeline;
• To monitor and review the contractors’ program, progress and deliverables to ensure all requirements are fulfilled;
• To establish and control all construction progress and ensuring all technical and engineering aspects of the building project meet customers’ and statutory requirements;
• To coordinate all different tradesmen to ensure smooth implementation of the works; and
• The candidate must be familiar with local authorities’ practices and regulations pertaining to development approvals, well versed with all laws governing property development law, construction procedures, including management and security.

Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least professional degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent;
• At least 8 years working experience in construction sector having experience in building works.
• Must have sound knowledge on different construction contracts, e.g. PWD or PAM contract;
• Required skills: AutoCAD, MS Office, MS Project; and
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, self-motivated, good coordination & communication skills and able to work under tight schedule.
• Preferably Sarawakian.
