Program Manager – Sourcing
About the Role: Brooks is seeking an experienced Program Manager – Sourcing to lead commodity sourcing for the new site in PasirGudang, Johor. The role supports the Strategic & Sourcing Commodity Manager in driving source strategies, supply continuity, cost optimization, and supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Localize and manage new product material costs, reporting cost drivers and changes.
- Partner with Engineering, Commodity Managers, and Suppliers to develop an optimal materials plan aligned with supply base optimization and the lowest total acquisition cost.
- Coordinate with NPI/Project transfer team to align localization rationalization with production ramp & revenue plan, ensuring accurate ERP releases and Agility (BOM) planning.
- Manage flow of materials to meet project requirements and ensure supplier capacity and capability.
- Drive NPI deliverables, manage supplier relationships and performance, identify and mitigate long‑term supply chain risks.
- Resolve supplier‑related quality, delivery, or compliance issues.
- Lead contract negotiations – pricing, terms, conditions, service levels, long‑term supply agreements – and update master supply agreements and commodity contracts.
- Collaborate with functional leaders to track & coordinate supply chain program deliverables, highlight risks, and provide program status reports.
- Support demand forecasting, inventory planning, risk mitigation with Planning teams, make‑vs‑buy analysis, and supplier transitions.
- Provide technical support for design for manufacturability, assembly, test, reviewing engineering changes and assessing materials/supply chain impact.
- Engage in process improvements to enhance product development and supply chain efficiency.
- Travel to supplier sites as required.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering or related field; Master’s or professional certification (CPM, CPSM, APICS) is an advantage.
- 7–12 years of procurement, category/commodity management or sourcing experience; at least 3years in NPI or Program management.
- Experience managing global suppliers and commodity categories (electronics, metals, plastics, mechanicals, chemicals, etc.) and reading technical documents.
- Understanding of GD&T and mechanical industry workmanship standards.
- Proven track record in cost savings, supplier negotiations, and sourcing strategy development.
- Lean Six‑Sigma training and/or certification highly desirable.
- Experience with international purchasing and sourcing, preferred with Southeast Asia base.
- Strong negotiation, analytical and communication skills; customer‑focused, results‑oriented, self‑motivated; project management knowledge (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
- Knowledge of semiconductor equipment manufacturing is highly desirable.
Work Location & Flexibility
Onsite, PasirGudang – Johor Bahru. Travel to supplier sites may be required.
