Job summary

PMB Aluminium Sdn. Bhd. is seeking aProduction Technician to operate casting machinery, monitor process parameters, and ensure product quality. You will perform routine inspections, troubleshoot minor issues, and support setup/changeovers while maintaining 5S standards in a heat-intensive foundry environment.

The role requires a Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Metallurgy and 1–3 years in casting or metal manufacturing. Shift work, overtime, and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Diploma, Certificate, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Metallurgy, or a related field.
• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in a casting, foundry, die casting, or metal manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of casting processes, molten metal handling, and quality inspection methods.
• Basic troubleshooting and mechanical skills.
• Willing to work shifts, overtime, and weekends when required.
• Good teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate casting machines and related equipment according to SOPs.

• Assist in process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support machine setup and changeover activities as required.

Job description

Operate casting machines and related equipment according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Monitor casting parameters such as temperature, pressure, and metal flow to ensure product quality.

Perform routine inspections to identify casting defects and take corrective actions.

Conduct basic troubleshooting and minor maintenance of casting equipment.

Ensure production targets are achieved while minimizing scrap and downtime.

Record production data, machine parameters, and quality inspection results accurately.

Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S practices.

Follow all safety, environmental, and quality management procedures.

Coordinate with Production, Quality Control, and Maintenance teams to resolve process issues.

Assist in process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.

Support machine setup and changeover activities when required.

Requirements

Diploma, Certificate, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Metallurgy, or a related field.

Minimum 1–3 years of experience in a casting, foundry, die casting, or metal manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of casting processes, molten metal handling, and quality inspection methods.

Preferred Skills

Experience with aluminium casting or die casting processes.

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen.

Understanding of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or other quality management systems.

Forklift or overhead crane operation experience (if applicable).

Working Conditions

Work in a manufacturing and foundry environment with exposure to heat, noise, and molten metal.

Required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.

Shift work may be required.
