Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced engineering professional to oversee biodiesel production and oil refining operations. You will drive production targets, ensure quality and cost efficiency, and coordinate plant startups, shutdowns and changes with maintenance teams.

You should have a Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (5 years in biodiesel or related chemical processes) and hands-on knowledge of DCS/PLC systems and methanol recovery.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering or related field with 5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of biodiesel production and transesterification process.
• Experience with vegetable oil or waste oil refining processes and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of biodiesel production and oil refining.
• Ensure production targets in quantity, quality and cost efficiency.
• Monitor and control critical process parameters: temperature, pressure, flow, catalyst dosing, methanol recovery, washing, drying.
• Coordinate smooth plant startups, shutdowns and changeovers.
• Ensure uninterrupted plant operations via coordination with maintenance and utilities teams.
• Monitor feedstock, intermediates, final biodiesel and glycerine quality.
• Ensure proper washing, neutralization, drying and filtration of biodiesel.
• Monitor performance of reactors, centrifuges, pumps, heat exchangers, distillation columns, separators and storage tanks.
• Identify equipment abnormalities and coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of chemicals, methanol, catalysts and finished products.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly production and downtime reports.

Requirement :

• Diploma / Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field 5 years of experience in biodiesel, edible oil refinery, chemical or chemical process
• Strong knowledge of biodiesel production process (transesterification)
• Understanding of vegetable oil / waste oil refining processes
• Knowledge of DCS / PLC systems, methanol recovery systems, glycerine separation and by-product handling
• Ability to work in shifts and perform overtime work

• Diploma/Advanced Diploma (Preferred)

Experience
